While my child's teacher was honest and approachable, the administration neglected to follow an IEP for my child that specifically states that they're underresponsive to pain and must have consultation done by an EMT or Doctor if injured. During recess, my child split their face down to the optical bone and was not transported to the hospital via ambulance. They were left to be transported to the hospital, while bleeding, in my backseat. My child has special needs and was terrified when I arrived at the school, was still covered in blood and the school could not even properly dress his wounds. They lied three times about how it happened, refused to cover the metal edge that he split his face on and I was not even contacted by any member of administration. They filed an incident report without my approval of the document and then I had to request a copy, which I was supposed to receive 24 hours after the incident. After this whole ordeal, I had to fight with my child every morning just to get on the bus. He screamed, cried and was terrified that he would get further injured. He still has a large scar and he still references the incident. Forever angry.Parent Review8y ago5 Reviews - The Montessori School of the Berkshires

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to MSB from children’s house (preschool) through 8th grade, and am so grateful for the education I received there. I developed a deep love of learning, while always being encouraged to foster my own independence and follow my passions in a creative way. I always felt supported by my teachers, and very at home in the community. I really liked the mixed age classrooms, because I was able to make strong friendships with people outside of my own age. I often found myself wanting to learn and try the more challenging lessons that my friends older than me were doing, which was cool. Montessori helped me feel prepared for my future life and education in a way I don’t think I could have gotten at another school, because you learn so much more than just the basics of primary education. Being able to learn in an involved, hands-on way made me excited to seek the most from all of my following education. Additionally, the practical life skills you learn in Montessori throughout the entire continuum, such as conflict resolution and how to be a strong collaborator and positive member of a community, are skills that I have used in every step of my life. MSB made me a driven learner and grounded communicator, and really taught me the importance of community.Other Review5mo ago12 Reviews - St Mary's School
