I went to MSB from children’s house (preschool) through 8th grade, and am so grateful for the education I received there. I developed a deep love of learning, while always being encouraged to foster my own independence and follow my passions in a creative way. I always felt supported by my teachers, and very at home in the community. I really liked the mixed age classrooms, because I was able to make strong friendships with people outside of my own age. I often found myself wanting to learn and try the more challenging lessons that my friends older than me were doing, which was cool. Montessori helped me feel prepared for my future life and education in a way I don’t think I could have gotten at another school, because you learn so much more than just the basics of primary education. Being able to learn in an involved, hands-on way made me excited to seek the most from all of my following education. Additionally, the practical life skills you learn in Montessori throughout the entire continuum, such as conflict resolution and how to be a strong collaborator and positive member of a community, are skills that I have used in every step of my life. MSB made me a driven learner and grounded communicator, and really taught me the importance of community.
