"It’s a pretty neighborhood, but during the summer you have to be extremely careful of flea and tick yard infestations because a lot of people let they’re yards get overgrown and depending on where you are in the area some of the sidewalks are messed up badly or have completely been washed away due to flooding during bad weather and not being repaired"

"Be choosy on the street/block you live on as one street may be amazing while onr street over is not a good street to walk alone"

"Highland feels like the center of the city. It feels close to everything. In a way, the neighborhood feels very communal, and I feel proud to live here. The homes are beautiful and the residents are often fun/eccentric/artsy. Unfortunately, there are a lot of slumlords who do not maintain their homes and do not care who they rent to. We hear gunshots nearly every weekend. I don’t feel safe walking around the neighborhood at any time of day. "

"Older established neighborhood, quiet tree lined streets close to public transportation, walking distance from shops; restaurants; laundry services & vet's offices. Easy access to hospitals, down town district & HWY's "

"Obviuous sense of community, sidewalks, family friendly, beautiful 100 year old trees, well maintained public parks, located very close to downtown, river activities, SciPort, Gardens and much more. Active Highland/Fairfield restoration Association and a dedicated community drive to increase the number of homes restored and brought back to the atmosphere of a historic well loved neighborhood."

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former student, st marks was one of the worst schools ever. The education was so bad. It did not prepare me for high school at all. Most of the teachers were horrible to everyone. They were rude and belittling. One of them, made the girls bend over infront of the boys in my eight grade year.St marks did not help me when my anxiety was at its worst. I had the worst experience there during middle school. There are so many better schools out there. St marks education is horrible. The only good teachers were the French teacher and 8th grade English teacher. Everyone else. Were not great teachers. The only reason I went to st marks was due to a speech impediment. It helped with that but it took about a decade to solve that problem. Also, the safety of the school is awful. When a kid THREATEN TO SHOOT THE SCHOOL, the principle did not do anything until the music teacher yelled at him. The teachers did not do anything against students doing drugs or anything like that at the school. Also, they did not do anything about cheating. I never cheated but literally most of the students in my grade cheated.Other Review5mo ago - St. Mark's Cathedral School
