"This area is mostly safe, but as a parent I would still accompany/closely supervise children under 13 in certain areas. This is an urban neighborhood of high traffic, and crime is always possible."

"The whole city is very dangerous right now but usually this is a pretty safe neighborhood. The school system is horrible. "

"I’ve lived in this area going on 6 years now and I love it. Family oriented and safe. Not much crime around my vicinity. Other side of Carrollton behind the Dollar Tree store and Shamrock Bar & Grill is perfect. Quiet and very nice to live in! "

"Mid city has a lot of green space near the sidewalks to potty dogs, unlike the more urban areas or even the Marigny, where there is less Grass"

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for a year. It’s quiet, and safe. Its walking distance to so many restaurants and grocery stores. The oak lined streets also make it a particularly beautiful place to reside."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe found this school by accident—our daughter was aging out of daycare, did not get a PreK slot in the lottery for the public schools, and we desperately needed a place to enroll her while we worked. We figured we’d be there a year before transferring her to public kindergarten. Well, that was years ago, and we’re still here at St. John’s, because this school is a gem hiding in plain sight. Our daughter is doing phenomenally both academically and socially, the (very experienced, certified) teachers all know and care about their students, and the principal and support staff run the place with both compassion and common sense. The tuition is VERY reasonable (less than a third of what some friends are paying for their kids at other schools in the city) and well worth every penny. Don’t be fooled by the no-frills look of the place—this place is fantastic and you should check it out.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - Success Preparatory Academy

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has really thrived here. The support from the faculty and staff made his transition from private school to public school so much easier than I imagined it would be. I feel he is loved and I know he loves so many people there.Parent Review1y ago2 Reviews - Morris Jeff Community School
