NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNothing but greatness from this school. We have been there 7 years now and I can't even think of one complaint. Anything that was brought to admins attention was quickly resolved, teachers love their students (they could be paid more imo), my kids enjoy going to school and we have had no issues with bullying or anything like that. Overall great school and worth every penny.Parent Review3y ago7 Reviews - St. Cecilia School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child was at SCS for many years. While her elementary days were great, great teachers (except for one), middle school was terrible. Homework all night, no communication from teachers to parents, they play favorites, and they like to gossip. It’s a VERY click school and if you are not in, you are out. I wanted to pull my child out many times, but my husband wanted them to finish. Unless you are the “popular” parent, I wouldn’t waste my time or money sending my child to this school.Parent Review1y ago6 Reviews - Episcopal School of Acadiana

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is truly a school like no other. One of the best things regarding this school is the academic support program. They have a building where students can go to obtain most of their accommodations (extra time, quiet space, scribe, ect.) Students can also have a period where instead of an extracurricular (language, pe, art) they can get their work done with a teacher or really any other help they may need. My only concern is the open campus is very easily accessible to outsiders. I do appreciate the honor code which allows students to learn without concerning their safety. The breaks can be very long, which is the reason for the 25 extra minutes of school. (8-3:25). While there are not too many assignments, most of them are big assignments (ie. essays, tests, projects) and they do tend to pile up all at once. For example, you may have one week where you have either one or no quizzes/assignments, and there may be a week where you have 4 tests, a major essay, worksheets, ect. For a student to go here, they just have to have good time management skills and know how to do multiple things at once. This school also very heavily relies on student participation. If a student needs help, they should be going to the teacher personally. They tend to frown upon parents doing these things for their child. One bad thing I will say is that teachers (especially english teachers) tend to come and go a lot. In the past 2 years there has been at least 3 or 4 new english teachers that leave halfway through the year. Not a lot of consistency in that field. I do like how once you get to high school, you are not required to take notes and such, it is really left to the student to take charge of their learning (they can request help if needed). The last thing I really have to say is the students are very prone to cliques. Not very "stereotypical" if you will, but you definitely are only accepted in the "popular groups" if your family comes from money. Overall a pretty good school.Other Review1y ago14 Reviews
