St. Pius Elementary School

Broadmoor elementary has very safe and caring environment...Principal, Teachers and other school staff are very involved and truly care about the children!!Broadmoor elementary has an integral part of our life for the past 5 years!!our oldest daughter began kindergarten here and the younger one started pre-k here and since we never considered another school!! As a parent it feels amazing knowing that the teacher and staff are working together with the parent as a team...our children enjoy going to Broadmoor elementary

Amazing experience i went their its a good test school and safe schoolteacher only this is if your kid needs to be disciplined

This is truly a school like no other. One of the best things regarding this school is the academic support program. They have a building where students can go to obtain most of their accommodations (extra time, quiet space, scribe, ect.) Students can also have a period where instead of an extracurricular (language, pe, art) they can get their work done with a teacher or really any other help they may need. My only concern is the open campus is very easily accessible to outsiders. I do appreciate the honor code which allows students to learn without concerning their safety. The breaks can be very long, which is the reason for the 25 extra minutes of school. (8-3:25). While there are not too many assignments, most of them are big assignments (ie. essays, tests, projects) and they do tend to pile up all at once. For example, you may have one week where you have either one or no quizzes/assignments, and there may be a week where you have 4 tests, a major essay, worksheets, ect. For a student to go here, they just have to have good time management skills and know how to do multiple things at once. This school also very heavily relies on student participation. If a student needs help, they should be going to the teacher personally. They tend to frown upon parents doing these things for their child. One bad thing I will say is that teachers (especially english teachers) tend to come and go a lot. In the past 2 years there has been at least 3 or 4 new english teachers that leave halfway through the year. Not a lot of consistency in that field. I do like how once you get to high school, you are not required to take notes and such, it is really left to the student to take charge of their learning (they can request help if needed). The last thing I really have to say is the students are very prone to cliques. Not very "stereotypical" if you will, but you definitely are only accepted in the "popular groups" if your family comes from money. Overall a pretty good school.

A G Montessori is a wonderful, small private school with dedicated and caring teachers. I cannot speak highly enough on this school and it's community!
