Overall I've enjoyed my experience with FHAE. I have two children there, and one that finished a few years back. Safe, engaging, love the arts programs... But more rigor and structure is needed in the upper grades (3-5). When my oldest left, there was quite an accelerated level of learning needed to keep up with the next grade at another academic magnet school. It wasn't just my child, witnessed the same from many others from FHAE.I'm personally challenging my next two to ensure they are able to transition more effectively.

Please don’t send your children to this school this school not about the kids only about money

Very unprofessional, Teacher told my mother that my daughter has a short attention span . You would think she took the time and did one on one with my child like she did for other students. She told me my daughter was being retained in kindergarten (I feel she could've worded that differently) she didn't care for my daughter needs. The principal claims that the teacher was one of her top , and that she can vouch for her . Yeah vouch for her not actually taking the time out to help my child the way she needed. Keep in mind my daughter was always doing her homework but failed kindergarten ? , Then today I didn't get a call stating my child was throwing up , the fact my sister had to be the one to pick her up and find out she has been throwing up is very sad, no one called me from the school.

Horrible terrible and it need to be close

If you're child has a disability that has not been diagnosed yet, I recommend not sending them here. We were told the school would work with us while we were waiting for a diagnosis, but this is not true. He's 5 and got suspended after attending for less than a month. They just look at him as any other "troublemaker" instead of viewing it as something he can't control. When asking about these things, the principal wanted to talk about numbers and statistics rather than what we can do to help the individual child. She said until he has a diagnosis there's nothing they will do, even though we were told different in the beginning. Considering they are a failing school, it seems that bringing up statistics is a moot point, especially when we're calling trying to discuss the issues with our child.
