Edgewater

This review is long overdue. Last year my 5 year old son was asked to leave kindergarden at a public school after his first week. He had never been in preschool, couldn't read, didn't know his letter sounds and is also on the spectrum. I thought that was what kindergarden was supposed to teach him but we didn't fight it and MAV was gracious enough to accept him into their preschool class. He was with them for less than a year due to a move but learned enough in our opinion to start public school again the following year. We just had our first parent/teacher conference and we can not contain our excitement! Thanks to MAV, he is the top reader in his class and is expected to be moved up to high achiever math and reading in January! He and his teacher both agree that all of the current material is way below his level and we were given the option to move him up to the 1st grade. I don't know how MAV did it but they have taken my son to levels that we never knew he could achieve. The staff and teachers are beyond wonderful. I challenge the above "reviewer" to put a "licensed teacher" up against one of MAV's teachers any day! Even my son's licensed teacher is amazed by MAV. Sending our son to MAV was one of the best decisions we could have ever made.

I would never recommend this school to anyone. Nationally ranked or not, when you have a child that cries everyday before school because they don’t want to go, that’s a BIG red flag. From bullying to teachers embarrassing students by yelling at them in front of their peers. It’s one thing to pull a kid aside, a totally different outcome to berate students in front of each other. The list goes on.

I graduated from Immanuel and now that I have my own kiddos I want to send them there, too! Excellent school with staff members who truly care about their students. Immanuel is hands down the best school in the area.
