What Locals Say about Kouts

  • Abigail P.
"a good quiet place to raise a family that’s not too far from good shopping locations! close to highways but still not high traffic. "

"I live in the Goodacher subdivision in Kouts. Been here since 05. The house is absolutely beautiful and me and my dad have done a ton of work to it to modernize the estate. My parents plan on being here forever. Now about Kouts. The town is great compared to portage and all the surrounding areas. Nice and small and very homey. Everyone knows everyone else. The communities goal to keep the town small is great and all, its very country. But at the same time, kinda sucks when wanting food and to go to the store. We had a BK, but they got rid of it to expand Family express? We have a subway, save a lot, Dollar store, Karate class,Gas station, banks, and a couple other little small things. A problem is with winter because we are the last location the county cares about, so we dont see cleared roads for a day or 2.. We have a ton of churches for all religions in case anyone was curious. My favorite is heartland. Very great church. .For a family its a great place to live. I graduated with the class of 2013. Now the school....They dont take any crap. They are VERY hardcore about learning and its very very tough. I took 8 classes my senior year plus 3 online classes. Also, the school is VERY cliquey. If you werent born here and started school in kindergarden, Youre nothing. I came in 5th grade and honestly it was terrible. I was always bullied and just had a ton of awful things happen. The crap talking really gets to you, and most students are very immature. But for learning, its great. Just be prepared to face hell if you go to school in any grade other than kindergarten. So to sum it up, i do enjoy living here. Its away from all the crazy chaos of the surrounding citys. But it is very very boring. Make sure you have something to keep you entertained or at least a pool. We have a town pool but its kinda icky. Hope this helps."

"Great house......large but w/ low utility costs. Park and pool are within walking distance. Safe neighborhood. A very quiet street w/ excellent neighbors. Kids have been safe here."
