6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was in the emotion disability special education program. It is clear to me that retraining is necessary. I have now moved districts with a significantly better program and this district’s program puts Ridge’s programs to shame. Teachers seem to be under qualified and they do not have enough support staff. This school needs more aides and social workers. They never had a plan to help my son attend regular classrooms and it is clear to me they planned to have him in SPED for the rest of his life. They have trained him that harmful behaviors (which is literally part of his disability) is an immediate ticket home. That does nothing but encourage his behaviors because he did not want to be at school. If my son even did something small like toss a pencil he was sent home. My son’s current and significantly better school has told me multiple times that now they must untrain these behaviors that the school has caused. His current school tells him daily they want him at school, he is loved, and they want him to succeed. When he was asked if his old school (ridge) ever made that clear to him or if he was even told he was wanted he told them no. He said all his teachers hated him. This school should take what I say seriously because the SPED program here is HARMFUL! No student in the program will ever succeed if they continue to run the program this way.Parent Review11mo ago13 Reviews - Charles Reed Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ll start by saying I am so glad my children don’t attend this school anymore. The environment here is horrible. Bullying is out of control and nothing is ever done about it. The lunchroom staff is incredibly rude to the children and there is one lunch room lady that screams at the top of her lungs at the students over the MICROPHONE! Admin doesn’t do anything about it and they continue to let her treat the children horribly. Racism is also a huge issue here so please take that into consideration. This school does not have your children’s best interests at heart. Do yourself a favor and go to another school. You’d be better off homeschooling. Just being honest. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.Other Review2y ago7 Reviews - Troy Hofer Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been nothing short of amazing at educating and engaging my three kids. My kids love going to school and oftentimes want to come back and visit their teachers. I felt like they had a variety of activities to bring the community together with the school. I know that the teachers really care about their kids and do a great job planning engaging lessons and communicating with parents.Parent Review2y ago5 Reviews
