My child was in a MOID classroom setting K-2 at this school. If your child needs extra help this is definitely not the school for you. The classroom needs to be ran more efficiently, and understand that school is a learning environment not a place to encourage a child to go to sleep instead of learning. The main teacher could be a great teacher in a few years since she’s new, but in order for that to happen she needs to learn how to take control of her classroom. The para in the classroom is awful and I would not recommend him to be in the present of any child.

I honestly would not recommend this school to any parent. Based on our experience, it's been incredibly disappointing from start to finish. Communication is lacking, and ClassDojo is rarely updated, leaving parents in the dark about what's happening in the classroom.Academically, I expected so much more. There doesn't seem to be much emphasis on homework, projects, or activities that really challenge the students or keep parents involved in their learning. I also have concerns about how behavior issues are handled. Every child deserves to feel safe and supported at school, and I believe schools should take concerns seriously and communicate clearly with families.The school itself feels outdated. The building and classrooms look like they haven't been updated in years, and it doesn't give the impression that much is being invested in creating a welcoming learning environment.What disappoints me the most is the overall lack of communication and transparency. Parents shouldn't have to guess what's going on in their child's classroom or constantly chase updates. Families deserve a school that keeps them informed, values education, and strives for excellence. Based on our experience, this school has fallen far short of those expectations.

I recently transfered my son to Asa Hilliard elementary from King Springs elementary in Smyrna, Ga. That was the WORST decision I've made thus far as a parent. Since ASA Hilliard elementary is a new school they have no state rating until after this school year is up. But I QUICKLY discovered this was formally Mt.Olive elementary which was ranked 1 out of 10 in ratings. Pretty much the bottom of the barrel. And the teachers exode that energy, well I can't speak for all but my son 2nd grade teacher is a sad story. Not only is the economic struggles and zoning zip codes can easily have a negative reputation on the kids it's also sadden to know the teachers quietly have no faith in their students progress. My son is and have been on track with his education and behavior until recently. I'LL apologize to him for putting him in this school and promised to have his charter / private school entry done this summer!

Terrible school. Our children are the future, and that's very important to remember as parents and teachers we are supposed to work together and hold a certain level of respect. Not here, super disrespectful super lazy, I feel like they care more about their appearance than the children. If they do the bare minimum they feel they deserve praise, the kids are fighting looking at nasty stuff on the computer running away from roaches in the hallway, dealing with bullies and people stealing people bringing weapons and getting them past the front office. Whenever you try to stand up for yourself or your children the staff members tear you down and act like you are the problem and the enemy. I'm not sure what they went to college for but the moment of child gets difficult they want to suspend them and they don't realize it's their toxic environment pushing these kids into the behavior that they're exhibiting I have a fourth grader and a kindergartener and other than a few friends they honestly don't like school so we won't be coming back next year but I just wanted to save any parent that I could the time stress energy and effort that I've wasted at this school. You can definitely find better. If you do happen to be forced to enroll your child in this school be the one to stand up and stick up for what's right and try to make it change because no staff member up their will.

I love the school and everything they do I’ve been there since I was a baby they treated me like I was their own and even my cousins and my new little cousins go there today

My oldest son attended this school when he turned three and stayed until kindergarten, he’s now in 4th grade and now my youngest son attends the school and has attended since he was one. If I were able to rate this school more I would. Please understand nothing is prefect but as a parent I can leave my child without worry and I’m always excited to hear what he’s learned. This week pre-K will be going to the library and my son is super excited. The school encourages students to be excited about learning and that in itself is priceless.

Blaming the administration for the poor performance is the easy thing to say. The problems of this school are much deeper. It's a shame because it has a lot of potential and a few teachers who are truly trying. There are parents who are trying and some administrators who are trying too, HOWEVER, they are very much a minority in the school. Bitter teachers, parents who don't give a $#$ about their children's eduction and an administration that is solely focused on CRCT scores...which can't even be done right. No communication at all. No field trips. Overlapping of events they do have. They can't even get toilet paper in the bathrooms right. Everything is plain ridiculous at CPE and it saddens me to no end that many children in the CP area are not getting the education they need and deserve. Our daughter will be leaving and trying the new charter.
