Toxic and high-stress work environment. Never had an experience so awful in my life. It broke my heart because I loved working with the children and was devoted to them; however, the teacher treated me in a degrading and prejudiced way. I am high functioning, but have a slight learning disability and was targeted relentlessly by this teacher. The teacher literally stood by, and did not nothing while I received non-stop passive-aggressive by not just her, but by her assistants, as well. I was new and starting off in the field, and unfortunately, this experience was discouraging and traumatizing. There is not one way to do things, and I was nothing but hands-on and supportive of those children; however, the classroom setting was filled with prejudism and miserable individuals. When I defended myself after the non-stop harassment, the teacher yelled at me, when all I did was defend myself after the harassment. The teacher and the assistant “told on me” without even talking it out and did so behind my back, knowing I was new and doing my best; they still let me go. I’m a single mom, and this was supposed to be my main source of income, but they didn’t care. It was like walking on eggshells every day, filled with miserable human beings in the classroom, and the environment they created was unacceptable. Would not recommend to anyone. The front desk people were nice though, so I added a star, as this is not against them, but I do think if that teacher is that judgmental and miserable, then she should probably retire.

great experience, we've been at maniscalco for 5 years

I had multiple children go here. For a christian school it is far from it. Honestly, the current principal punishes students for everything. From having different views from hers, for opinions that doesn't match hers. Students that try to stick up for themselves get in trouble and shutdown. The teachers aren't that great either.

If you are a parent and searching for an upper school for your child, walk away from CDS. Do not be fooled by the pretty campus and smiling faces. This is not a place where they care about your child or put the child's needs ahead of the school--they ONLY care about the money coming in and the reputation of the school . There is a sickness in the administration. Don't get me wrong, there are some good people and good teachers there. The problems come from the administration. If you encounter any problems of any kind, they will close ranks and defend the school at all cost. They will side with the biggest donor, they will manipulate you to keep your tuition flowing. Take my advice, as a parent of two children who have attended CDS for the past 7 years, choose another school.
