"I have my own car to commute from one point to the next. But there are shops and stores for all your needs in close proximity "
  • Trulia User
"I work on the local base. commute is standard, less than 15 minutes on a good day. night shift workers get the best commute but everything in town is closed"
  • Christian G.
"My commute has moderate traffic in the afternoon when I go to work up near Crestview but at about midnight when I get off work, there is little to no traffic all the way down 85 to my house in Ocean City. There is no sidewalks and trash truck drivers don’t take forever to pick up garbage on trash day. There’s not much of a youth presence in the area but regardless it’s a pretty quiet area and everybody keeps to themselves. "

"Lots of trees close to water and also some shopping and restaurants . A Bike ride away. Lots of birds of all sort and I have seen a fox around too. "
  • Ian M.
"Small yards, and poor infrastructure lead to fences faking over in harsh storms. Local shelters are packed and sending lost dogs out of area."
  • Eliana
"All the green space and beach area, there is no traffic around the neighborhood and most vehicles drive slow. Occasionally you see cyclist and people walking. Quite pleasant place to walk dogs"
  • Ian M.
"This neighborhood is the downscaled end of Fort Walton Beach, and is becoming less family friendly every year."
  • Ian M.
"Poorly maintained, all local funding goes to Destin and beyond, area is growing faster than resources can be allocated to already existing issues, infrastructure is poorly maintained."
  • Keyla M.
"living by the water and got a pool also is quite and close to school and work and diferentes stores and gas stations and banks we have a close by post office and my neighbors are very nice "

"there’s no dog park. but there are still sidewalks throughout the neighborhood to walk your pups there "
  • Savannah N. J.
"It’s just as much “home” as Fort Walton. They’re extremely close, and everyone identifies with the towns the same. Everyone knows everyone in some way or another. It’s a nice town that’s close to the beach. "
  • Nancy S.
"The Colony Estates area has trees, single family homes, and quiet streets. It is centrally located in greater Fort Walton Beach, so it is only a short drive to shopping and restaurants. The local elementary school is less than a mile away. "
