"This is an ultimate safe area as it is a very large military community. Schools are great!! The children are respectful due to the community. "
  • Jtscott0623
"It’s pretty safe but there are bears somewhat frequently. Be mindful of Hurlburt Air Force Base traffic it’s usually around and before 5pm when it gets bad. "
  • Alexandra Ifland
"People walk there dogs, it’s a very walkable area and pretty and safe. No dog park though but it is by the water"
  • June Newton
"No public transport. But busy when the military base & one elementary school lets out. Traffic is busy approximately 3 to 6 pm. 4 lane highway with some traffic lights causing delays at prime pm time. Otherwise great & fast commute. "
  • S.lamb21
"No how and awesome 4th of July block parties! We’re actually selling our house but wish the insurance wasn’t so much otherwise we’d be keeping it."
  • Cornishkc
"Great neighborhood I think it is a great place. It is a very nice place to live. I am currently living in the best neighborhood in the area. I really think you would enjoy living in this neighborhood. "
  • Simplyspecial
"Traffic across the base can get backed up both in the mornings and evenings. As long as you allow yourself plenty of time you will be just fine. "
  • Crystal.hall81
"There are farmers markets every Saturday, always having fireworks at the landing and at Christmas time Santa goes around the neighborhood on a fire truck blasting music!"
  • Lacey W.
"A lot of people are out walking their dogs. We have one small dog and our only issue is that our fence backs up to our neighbors on both sides. One neighbor two large dogs and they have busted through our fence a couple of times. We just worry about our little dog’s safety in that one instance. In general, it is a very dog friendly area."
  • Brian D. M.
"Friendly neighborhood. Always use a leash. Good way to get exercise. Most people pick up behind their pets. "
  • GINNIE L.
"traffic is bad during base change, school. pickups and tourist time. if we had few more lights it could help. "
  • Stunt101966
"Research all the area prices vary greatly. The father into Navarre the bigger and cheaper you can find homes near very good schools. There aren’t many groups to meet new people but neighbors are friendly "
  • Erin.shaffer2016@gmail.com
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for four years, as a widowed mother for two and a half years I’ve felt safe with my children while living here and it’s near everything! "
  • Cornishkc
"It's a nice and quiet place. The only thing I don't understand is the unnecessary traffic that goes through our neighborhood. Otherwise, I'm very happy here. "
  • Nicholas D. D.
"We love dogs and own one ourselves so dogs are always welcome around our home and everyone that lives around us has pets as well."
  • Songbird120796
"It’s an okay place to live but there is not a togetherness about the community there are many things that could be done differently one being adding more garbage cans closer to all apartments along with the mailboxes "
  • KimBassett
"This is a great neighborhood. We look out for each other. About 1/4 mile from the sound and gulf, this area has no violence or burgurly"
  • Soundsofmercy

"they would like the Green space, the friendly dog owners but may dislike no sidewalks even though the speed limit is only 15. "
  • Megan F.
"There are bears in the neighborhood so be aware to not leave trash cans where they can get them and don’t let kids play outside too late."
  • Savannah N. J.
"Mary Esther is a very calm, very nice town. Most of the people in our neighborhood know and look out for each other. Children are safe to play outside, noise is minimum. It’s close to base, so you will hear them practicing at night; but you really don’t hear or mind it at all. "

"it seem to be friendly, quiet, and clean. Close enough to the mall, eating places, convenience stores and gas but far enough off the beaten path to be very quiet most times. "
  • Gloria1651
"You are right on the beaches whether you have a home on the gulf or a few blocks inland you can get to the beaches in minutes. Its just a short distance to shopping to include outlets or all the night life you would like."
  • Nancy
"This is a highly sought after area. Large lots, many with Sound View or on the Sound. Listed as Mary Esther, but is actually Wynnehaven Beach. "
  • Rebelcowgirl55
"I lived in the area from 1974 to 2010, in the beginning it was a small amount of people mostly mobile homes with livestock in yards, dirt roads, in the 80's houses began to be built around, roads paved in the 90's, more people buying into the area, changes took place on having livestock, rezoning started, crime rate picked up with groups of teens living in area, cars are broken into, houses, cars racing up and down paved streets [speed bumps needed badly] late 90-2000's crowed in with more and more houses, due to the teen gangs I moved away, Bear problem picked up from a joining military range. The area is set to far from town and the traffic on 98 is horrible in mornings and afternoons, hard to get anywhere."
