Excellent! Principal leads administrative team with positive energy; teachers are energetic and creative; all staff I have interacted with have demonstrated that they are happy to be at Winthrop. Student behavior expectations are clearly defined and consistently modeled and reinforced (my son has not experienced bullying). The PTO is well organized and very active, and interested parents may run for School Governance Council. So impressed with my son's progress in Kindergarten at Winthrop STEM Elementary Magnet School!

This is a small school where the teachers are dedicated to the childrens rights, that they all desearve an equal education. JUST BECAUSE THIS SCHOOL IS A CITY SCHOOL DOES NOT DETER THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION THE CHILD WILL BE GETTING.

As and ex-student, I loved this school, I still talk about going to this school when I a kid. I remember the Spanish and music class, having the same teacher every year was great. Mr. Christopher was a truly amazing teacher. I loved going to the college for swimming lessons and gym class, and the theater for plays, short walk to the park around the corner or sunny days was great. I loved everything about this school; I still remember some of the creative ways that I learned math, and memorization. As a kid I felt lucky to go to the "cool school", as an adult I feel privileged. An amazing opportunity that I wish I had back and I hope to have my children experience! There is so much more I could say, but I am just glad I was able to experience this school and it was a major impact on my life. Also I think when I attended this school it was the Multicultural Arts Magnet School.

Both my children have been through The Quaker Hill School. Its attributes include, an incredible music program, superior community engagement, and highly qualified and experienced teachers. My only real complaint pick-up and drop off is congested due to the layout of the parking lot and access roads. All in all it’s a fantastic school. We never had to worry about our children’s safety, teacher competency, or classroom resources. We highly recommend it.

Was there from 72' thru 76'. Back then it went up to 6th grade. Lots of good memories associated with that place. Wish I could do it all over. Sorry to hear it's going the way of the dinosaurs. It will be sorely missed by many, I'm sure. RIP Pleasant Valley.
