10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average2 of my children attend East School as did I when I was little. The school motto of Work Hard, Be Kind is exemplified by both students and staff. Teachers go above and beyond to work not only on "text book" education but also on life lessons, resiliency, empathy, etc. My children are exceling academically and socially and really couldn't be any happier. Parent involvement is very high which is great to see too.Parent Review9y ago4 Reviews - Silvermine Dual Language Magnet School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my children have loved Silvermine! One just finished his first year of middle school and as a result of the excellent education he received at Silvermine has had high honors all year. My other son will be going into third grade, is performing well above average, AND is learning to speak Spanish. The teachers and the rest of the staff have always been helpful and super-responsive when I have had any questions. Low test scores overall are most likely due to this being a dual language program so it is not fair to compare it directly to other schools that teach English-only classes. I bet if they look at test scores in a few years, the student will be completely on par or above AND have the benefits of bilingual education.Parent Review4y ago18 Reviews - Connecticut Friends School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethis school is one of the worst around, the teachers are young and inexperienced leaving my child in emotional and educational distress, the teachers act as though they are friends of the students which leaves children unequipped to have a respectful conversation with an administrator or adult, the education does not go in depth and leaves children with a vague understanding of basic requirements, the teachers teach the class until the most gifted child is satisfied, this left my child with gaps in her knowledge. the school is to small for k-8 and the children have almost no room. my child was far behind others her age for only being at the institution for one year, this is a good choice for grade school but leaves middle schoolers unknowing.Other Review3y ago9 Reviews - St. Luke's School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of our kids entered SLS in middle school and have had an extraordinary experience all the way around! Our daughter entered in 5th and our son 7th. As parents of two different kids, we weren’t sure what to expect, and were hopeful our kids would have a good experience… Fast forward and we can truly say that St Luke’s exceeded all of our expectations 10 fold! The teachers, faculty, and staff truly care about the kids. They care about their social, emotional, and academic experience. The teachers work hard to make sure each child finds their voice and also feels heard. The school motto “enter to learn go forth to serve” resonates deeply in the community. They are teaching humanity not just academics. Our kids are happy, engaged, and challenged in a good way. We can’t recommend St Luke’s high enough!Parent Review8mo ago6 Reviews
