"I live in the area and commute using Spring Creek Trail. The trail is kept in as good or better condition than the roads during inclement weather. The area is relatively quiet (except for typical road noise which is common when next to a major street). Poudre Valley Fire Authority (station 4) is less than 1/4 mile away (they are not a noise problem - in fact, they seem to be very conscious of trying to be good neighbors). Businesses are located at the corner of Drake/Shields and Drake/Taft Hill so basic (food, hardware, bank, starbucks, fast food) shopping needs are less than a couple of minutes away yet far enough away not to detract from the residential atmosphere. In addition, the Senior Center is located nearby at Drake/Shields. Bus stops are currently less than 10 min walking distance to the west (Taft Hill stop) and about 20 min walking distance to the east (Senior Center near Shields). The Spring Creek Park complex is about 30 minutes walking distance and less than 10 minute bike ride away using the trail. Centrally located with respect to CSU, the old downtown area, major shopping and entertainment areas."
