As a parent, a unicorn school is one that feels safe, has great teachers, and a collaborative administration. Edison feels relatively safe, and all teachers we've had have been great — each trained to identify and handle gifted students. That alone makes this a good school.It would be a great school if the administration were better. The principal's strengths are in managing the school operationally, but leadership, conflict resolution, and genuine engagement with parents are not among them. She tends to see parents as adversaries and pushes their concerns toward the (admittedly well-run) PTA. The enrollment staff is notably unwelcoming — in our experience and in conversations with other families.If you sail into this school easily and never interact with the administration, you will enjoy Edison and your kids will test well through the grades. If you're looking for a collaborative administration, diversity, and general empathy for children, you may be better served elsewhere.

I used to love this school until 24/25 school year when they added middle school. These kids have no respect for the school or the younger students. They cuss, fight, hug n kiss on other students while on school property and in front of the younger kids. Now the younger kids are being exposed to things that they should not see at such a young age. Younger kids always look up to older kids and now they are being exposed to older kid activities and unfortunately these kids are being brought in from the hood, excuse me for saying that but it’s true. My student class is forced to have lunch in his class room this year now due to the older kids. He is loosing out on the lunch room experience. Very disappointed A form was sent out about teacher week and things the teacher would like, okay that’s great. There was a section on this form that referenced how the teacher would like to be identified. Are you kidding me. Be liberal out side of school. I am not here as a parent to know your pronouns. You’re a teacher, focus on teaching.
