"The neighborhood has a lot of history and culture. The homes are also many different designs and not much cookie cutter buildings."

"Excellent. Office is 60 blocks north, thus against traffic. Takes me 20 minutes to get there in bad traffic. 12 with none. "

"It’s a very dog friendly neighborhood. There are several parks close by to walk to. A lot of the restaurants are also dog friendly. Not really anything to dislike if you have a pet. "

"The Highlands events on 32nd street make this neighborhood very special! In the summer there’s a farmers market every Sunday and they have holiday events as well. The restaurants in this area are also amazing! "

"I don’t have a dog, but I feel safe and happy also seeing everyone walk their dogs. Everyone has them on leases and it almost makes me feel more comfortable within this neighborhood because I love animals and especially dogs. It makes it feel more homey and how the neighborhood was that I grew up on when I was a child. "

"I visit my sister and brother-in-law here quite often. West Highland is comfortable without losing any bit of energy and vibrancy. If you are looking for a place where you can decompress with tons of great food and drink options, West Highland is it!"

"This is a fantastic area! West Highlands is the safest and most affluent. It's 5 minutes from downtown and walking distance from fantastic restaurants. Beautiful atmosphere. Old tree lined streets, friendly neighbours and safe. :))"

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, a unicorn school is one that feels safe, has great teachers, and a collaborative administration. Edison feels relatively safe, and all teachers we've had have been great — each trained to identify and handle gifted students. That alone makes this a good school. It would be a great school if the administration were better. The principal's strengths are in managing the school operationally, but leadership, conflict resolution, and genuine engagement with parents are not among them. She tends to see parents as adversaries and pushes their concerns toward the (admittedly well-run) PTA. The enrollment staff is notably unwelcoming — in our experience and in conversations with other families. If you sail into this school easily and never interact with the administration, you will enjoy Edison and your kids will test well through the grades. If you're looking for a collaborative administration, diversity, and general empathy for children, you may be better served elsewhere.Parent Review2mo ago17 Reviews - Rocky Mountain Prep Berkeley

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRocky Mountain Prep has been one of the most disappointing and heartbreaking experiences I have had as a parent. This school completely failed both of my children and has shown little to no real support from administration when it actually mattered. My son has been treated as if he is a criminal instead of a student who needed guidance, support, communication, and adults willing to help him succeed. Rather than working with our family, administration constantly made him feel targeted and unsupported. They failed to communicate properly with me as a parent, failed to take accountability for their own mistakes, and then admitted they needed to “do better next time” with communication. My son should never have been the lesson for their failures. Now they are even preventing him from attending continuation to support his friends, which is honestly heartbreaking after everything he gave to this school. My son played sports for this school, had good grades, and still was treated unfairly and pushed aside by administration. My daughter was also failed by this school. I repeatedly brought up concerns during parent-teacher conferences about her struggling academically and needing extra help and possible special education support. Not once did administration connect me with resources, special education staff, or provide any meaningful support. They ignored the concerns while my daughter continued struggling. This school cares more about protecting its image than actually supporting students and families. If your child needs understanding, communication, emotional support, or educational support, do not expect Rocky Mountain Prep to help. My children deserved far better than what this school gave them.Parent Review1mo ago7 Reviews
