"I love it here, this neighborhood is a lot better than my last one. Everyone here is a lot nicer, and packages are not stolen as often"
  • Kelley
"Cons: Dogs are someone always escaping from peoples homes and people can’t seem to keep track of their dogs. Lots of glass on the sidewalk, as well. Pros: huge park nearby. Everyone does have a dog so they love them and they are welcome. Big backyards. "

"Mountain View / Athmar Park in Denver is a unique little neighborhood close to Denver and accessible to the mountains, great for those who want to live an active lifestyle, with parks and bike trails nearby. Close to public transportation. Schools are not the best, but there are good alternatives available. "

"We've lived in this neighborhood for 28 years. Three years ago we moved just one block to live on the north side of Huston Lake. Our neighborhood is an undiscovered gem in Denver -- 13 minutes to the Tech center or downtown or the foothills; incredibly affordable single-family homes; mostly brick bungalows; safe; peaceful; great Asian and Mexican food in walking distance; on the bus route; walk to the library. Huston Lake Park has a one-mile perimeter, and is full of playing fields, tennis courts, picnic tables, a playground, and the lake, which is a biological wetlands delight with permanent and migrating waterfowl (geese, ducks, coots, grebes, cormorants, pelicans), fish, crawdads, frogs, and more. We are a diverse neighborhood with newly arrived 20 somethings and long-resident 80 somethings and everything in between. We are anglo and latin and asian and african and native american. Our neighbors include stone masons and tree trimmers, lawyers and biologists and techies, artists and antique shop-owners on Broadway and animal keepers at the Denver Zoo, along with the occasional retiree. In short, we love it and we chose to stay close when we needed a larger space. "

"I love this cozy community near downtown. Many of the homeowners are still original home owners from the early 1950s. There is a sizable and beautiful park with easy access to urban trails. Most quite but you have to look at each street as an individual, some better than others. Also best to stay south of Exposition."
