The Montessori Learning Center in Salinas, California is designed to engage, encourage, and enrich the student. I can attest to that, as I attended MLC from k-8th grade and I would not be the same person without it. The teachers care and support the student with an incredible amount of dedication and encouragement. In fact, the entire staff and faculty creates a familial community. The Montessori philosophy is executed wonderfully in each and every classroom. Both the teachers and environment create an atmosphere where students can’t help but grow. During my time at the Montessori Learning Center, I was excited to go to school every morning and sad to leave every afternoon. You learn academics, however, the school teaches so much more than that. As a Montessori student, I learned how to think outside of the box, how to accomplish anything I set my mind to, to persevere, and how to be a kind, peaceful, and considerate person. MLC teaches your child not only how to be a good student, but how to be a productive member of society. When the public school system tells your child to be just like everyone else, MLC forms your child into an independent and creative thinker.I am currently a dual enrollment student (enrolled in both high school and college). When my peers, teachers, and administrators ask me how I have the work ethic, study skills, confidence, and motivation to excel in my classes, I simply tell them that I am a Montessori student. If I could recommend anything that would help your child be successful and independent, I would recommend the Montessori Learning Center every time.
