"Always feels a little uncomfortable especially at night. There is always trash in the yard blowing from the main streets. "

"I live in the neighborhood for the last eight years. Every one here is another member of the family doesn’t matter race, color, language, country or religion."

"Mostly quiet, lots of cute houses, very diverse (age, race, household size, income) and overall great area. On street parking is usually not a problem but the streets got a bit crowded recently. Many long-term residents and owner occupied homes. Budding local business scene. good grocery, food, drink options nearby. walkable and easily bike-able to BART. "

"We have a brand new elementary school in the neighborhood; Michelle Obama Elementary. It’s very walkable and not far from the popular Solano Playlot. "

"Friendly neighbors, feels safe for family. A lot of trick or treaters every Halloween. People say hi when you pass then in the streets. Neighborhood looks out for one another "

"It could be safer!! And Cleaner, way too much trash it’s gross. More regular patrol would be appreciated people speed. It’s not safe in that regard either "

"I believe it’s just crowded and needs a little more cleaning and maintenance by all the neighbors to create a community "

"There’s a food market every Friday they have fresh fruit and vegetables. They also have a vendor that sells fresh smoothies. Another that sells roasted chickens. There’s a wide variety of other vendors like jewelry, electronics, clothing and so on."

"I don’t have kids so I’m probably not the best person to ask this question. Seems like a good place to grow up; I know a couple of kids here who have gotten to the age where they are parents."

"No idea. We are not pet owners. There are several dogs in the area, though. Can’t say much more than that."

"Very residential and usually quiet. I've lived here for 20 years and people watch out for each other but don't get in your business."

"My extended family have lived in this neighborhood for over a half century. While its semi-dense and urban it is comfortable and full of pleasant surprises."

"The neighbors have known each other for generations. Our children grew up together and we all watch out for each other. Crime in this area has always been significantly lower than surrounding areas and we truly have that community feel here. It is a quiet neighborhood where people enjoy walking with their families and pets and we even know each other's pets by name and we look out for them as well. I would choose N/E Richmond over Berkeley or Oakland any day. - 35 yr res."

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a miserable excuse of a school. It's surrounded and covered in trash. They neglect the needs of special needs students, disregard student safety by allowing bullying resulting in injury without reporting it to parents, did not follow protocol and the law with establishing an IEP, did not communicate a bomb threat to parents upon drop off. I'm not sure how they are even still allowed to operate. I got my eldest transfered due to safety and negligence. Tried to give them another chance 5 years later with my second and third born and they got worse. I had to get them a safety transfer as well. Fight hard to transfer your students out of this school if you are zoned here. Take advantage of open enrollment and spare your kids. They deserve better. Even the only decent teachers I met here transferred out to work at other schools. All bad.Parent Review1mo ago5 Reviews - Wilson Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBased on our experience with this school (last 3 years), the above stats are very misleading, if not inaccurate or outdated. In the last several years, the school has undergone rapidly improving performance and parent involvement (new PTA). The teachers are amazing and incredibly dedicated, and the principal (Valez) is outstanding! As newcomers to Richmond, we were initially hesitant, but now we have no regrets and we are proud to send our kids to this school in this amazing community.Parent Review5y ago2 Reviews - Vista Christian School
