NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would rate it 100/100 because they have always been there for me my siblings and my parents. They also made it a lot simpler when it came to work, and they brought both young and older kids together so we could help the younger ones with whatever and the younger ones can remind us how fun it is to be a kidOther Review8y ago1 Reviews - Shepherd's Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis charter school is ran as a public school- they have their own curriculum and you do not receive funds for supplies or extra curriculars like you do at other charters. Their curriculum is worksheet based- 3-4 worksheets per subject per day plus worksheets in various booklets. It totals a fairly large packet of worksheets daily which is more apt to burn out younger children. Much of the worksheets are monotonous and busy work. On top of this, there is iready daily and zoom meetings daily. We found our teacher whom we would meet with once a week, to be unprofessional. It was one thing that she was very military-esq in zoom meetings (children must sit a certain way, look a certain way, etc.) and in person. It was a whole other thing that she would intentionally belittle and degrade our 6 year old in front of her. She would make it known that other children her age were able to do what she could not yet do. This does nothing but lower self esteem and snuff out a love of learning. The school clearly focuses on numbers and scores, at the cost of children’s mental health. They must believe the more worksheets they give out and the more they belittle children, the better their scores will be and therefore the more funding they’ll receive for their nice building and salaries. If you want a well rounded child who does well academically, don’t enroll them in this school.Parent Review3mo ago1 Reviews
