"I loved this neighborhood as a kid because I lived there and the neighbors were really plenty of other kids to play with "

"Don’t take kids here. It’s a horrible homeless area. Very dangerous atmosphere. I have drive to work and I have to go through the area for work and then home "

"Not a lot of area for the dog owners to do their duty. Plus the owners don’t always pick up their dog poop."

"It does not feel safe to walk around after dark Areas are not well lit enough. There are a lot of feral cats as well. "

"Fruitvale is great for a lot of things. It's pretty safe and it's mostly families where I live. There's some rampant, depressing prostitution nightly on International Boulevard, which is the main shopping drag. That area mostly closes down early anyway. There are a lot of cute, small shops and Taquerias, but there's also a lot of overlap. There's a Food Maxx and a Smart & Final pretty nearby, but I'd prefer a Safeway or even a Whole Foods. There doesn't appear to be a nightlife around here (except for the rampant prostitution and nonstop car traffic) so this neighborhood is neither quiet nor exciting. That being said, I feel pretty safe walking around at night here and everybody seems very friendly so far."
