Ardenwood

Ardenwood elementary seem to be run by a for lack of a better word deceptive administration. The sanitation of the school also seem to be sub-standard snd likely to put our childrens health at risk. I urge all other parents to be weary of these issues.

IMO: The pre-school's curriculum is very rigid for 3 year olds. The staff is ineffective and over burdened by too many children in the class. They expect that every kid will behave a certain way so that the staff doesn't get overwhelmed.The director one day randomly called us and asked us to seek our pediatrician's help as our child was not developing emotionally and psychologically. This made us very anxious. The staff and director seems to be having communication issues, the teachers in the same class had two different opinions about our son which was strange. We provided the school with a questionnaire sent by our pediatrician. They answered the questionnaire in such a way that it looked like our son had a mental problem. Our pediatrician said he is a normal kid with no concerns. The answers were so inconsistent that the director had to apologize and said that they would "redo" the questionnaire which baffled us as why would you redo something which was done consciously to begin with. All this showed a potential bias towards our son.My son would often come out of the school with his hands wet upto his shoulders, pants untied etc. I asked why didn’t the teacher notice and change his clothes for which they didn’t have a convincing explanation and said that they would be careful next time.My son’s teacher constantly told us that our son had poor fine motor skills and that it was concerning and asked us to work on it which we did. For 3 months the staff couldn’t even teach him how to hold the pencil. One day I decided to teach my son how to hold the pencil and surprisingly he was able to learn it in about 3-4 days and has been doing it consistently well since. The school kept telling us that our son was not behaving like other kids, not listening to the teachers and running in the class etc. They said he should be able to sit when told and follow instructions like other kids. When I asked them why they were comparing with other kids they said that that's how they did it and if we wanted to name it “Comparison” we were free to do so.In the end when we met with our pediatrician she said that there was nothing concerning our kid and he is a pretty normal kid. All in all our experience with the school was horrendous. IMO the school puts a lot of pressure not only on the kids but also on the parents and uses scare tactics to oust a child not complying with their agenda.
