"As a dog owner something i dont like about my neighborhood is when there arent dog bags available outside without having to purchase when forgetting to bring one. Something i like is that stares and parks are nearby so i can walk my dog to the store or to the park"

"It is a safe community we have enjoyed living here the last 4 years. Pet friendly and very kid friendly. The schools are good. Lots of friendly neighbors. Older community lots of retired families and military families "

"Dogs are happy. But it would be nice if the owners picked up after their pet and kept them off lawns "

"I commute from here to Poway but it’s not as bad as it could be like driving on the 805. I have found my routine and have been able to make the drive in 45min or less."

"Lived here since 2014. I have felt comfortable walking home at night 60% of the time. Just like anywhere else always be aware of your surrounding. It is a highly patrolled neighborhood since police station isn’t too far. Very family oriented neighborhood, with a moderate homeless problem on the main streets of the neighborhood. Many great place to eat locally. Gas prices are pretty decent compared to the rest of the SD county. "

"Some people don’t clean up after their dogs, therefore you see dog poop everywhere. Inconsiderate of others and children that walk around. "

"My neighborhood is calm, cool and collective! Also with reliable public transportation as of going to Downtown & the public trolley!"

"My current neighborhood is not one, in my perspective, suited for families with children. All outside factors of the area, for example, maintenance, front yards, parking and overall neighborhood look is horrible. Everyone is always fighting for parking, people park their cars for dayyysss in the same spot, and cars are parked in front yards/sidewalks. My car got hit being parked. My husbands car was broken into. As far as look, there is always trash, furniture, dog poops and alcoholic glass everywhere. Yards aren’t kept up. Area is over populated to the point that there is not enough parking for everyone. I literally park two blocks away from my home every day. Overall, not a good neighborhood for families nor does it feel safe. "

"Homeless people from the trolley station constantly flood the streets. Not a good place to walk your dog at night."

"I've lived in this neighborhood going on three years, and it is a convenient neighborhood to live in; close to freeways, businesses and shopping. However, the street we live on is super busy and noisy."

"People walking their dogs all the time and very friendly. I am really hoping that my son can lease this house so near to us it would be nice to have him close by."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has changed significantly in the last few years, primarily due to the current principal and partly due to the faculty. Unfortunately, the previous principal retired, and the current principal has been extremely poor in leading the school. The education quality has declined drastically, and Catholic values are no longer emphasized. The current principal is unprofessional, whether in person, when speaking at events, or in his emails. He is extremely lazy, lacks transparency, makes decisions that do not align with Catholic values, and has no leadership capabilities. Since his arrival, there has been considerable discord among parents and students. There has been a high turnover of faculty, with new hires often having minimal or no experience. Some of the few long-standing faculty members sadly seem burned out lacking the passion they once had as Catholic educators— and some should really consider retirement. Class sizes are overfilled, averaging between 37-40 students per class, making it extremely difficult for children to receive a decent education. The education is so poor that parents have resorted to hiring previous faculty members as tutors. There should be no need for extra tutoring when parents are already paying a significant amount in tuition. Grades are handed out to please parents and students, with almost every student receiving honor roll status in the middle school grades, which can impact their self-esteem and true capabilities once they reach high school. The school community is struggling to maintain what’s left of its traditions, which now barely exist. Personal situations with families have been handled extremely poorly, raising serious questions about the morals and values of the staff entrusted with our children. If you’re considering a Catholic school to instill good Catholic values and provide a quality education for your child, this is not the school. Seek out the many other parochial schools in San Diego County that offer comparable or lower tuition costs. There, your children will receive a superior education, be nurtured in a safe and supportive environment by dedicated faculty, and experience a true sense of community that aligns with your values and aspirations for their future. Make the choice that truly benefits your child's growth and well-being.Parent Review1y ago17 Reviews - Saint John's Episcopal School
