"Nearby school, fairly quiet compared to others areas on this side of town. Well kept yards, neighbors are friendly but respect your privacy. Some loose dogs roam the neighborhood but don’t cause any problems besides barking and they don’t seem to be strays. Nice and spacious mid-century single family homes. Some issues with people speeding and skipping stop signs later at night. No issues with packages and deliveries being left on the porch. Overall a good place to live. "

"I have a 5 to 10 minute commute to the hospital at 6:30a, 11:30a and 6:30p depending on my shift that day. Easy and minimal traffic Clean drive straight to work with a beautiful view of the mountains range. "

"Cheney Lake creates such a beautiful community with people running, walking dogs, kids playing, kayaking. During winter time the lake freezes and people are out ice skating and making food. It’s really a nice place! "

"Only takes 5min to drive to work. Traffic is not too bad. Given my shift is earlier then many people. It takes about 10-12 minutes to ride my bicycle to work. "

"I've lived in the northeast side of Anchorage for over 20 years now. I used to consider it a safe, nice area. Crime has become quite common, and I'm seeking a new community outside Anchorage to finish raising my teenager safely. "

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff and teachers are wonderful - they know all the kids by name, even if they aren't in their classes! You can definitely tell they care about the kids! The kids are great too! Respectful and look out for each other. The new principal is such a refreshing change! She is very respectful, caring, and the whole energy at the school is so much better! (The previous principal was very rude to everyone - teachers, parents, and students!). We are thrilled to have Ms. Grenier!Parent Review11y ago1 Reviews - Creekside Park Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal david christal is horrible. Many parents I have talked to have said the same. He's very rude and condescending. He does not care about bullying. He doesn't try to resolve conflict. The teachers were more help than he was . The school has gone down hill since the last principal left. I would not recommend this school to anyone .Parent Review1y ago4 Reviews - Muldoon Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience was great overall as in I loved working there. Staff is friendly and the kids can be a little rough behaviorally. The cultural diversity is amazing and the families are really neat to get to know. The constant turnover in staff is difficult to make connections in the school.Teacher Review7y ago2 Reviews - Nunaka Valley Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI give the school a bug thumbs up!!! Everyone is friendly and helpful. Every morning when I come in I hear them announce the Lexia superstars or recognition from teachers on a student who did something above and beyond. It really is inspiring. Office staff always greets us with a smile.Parent Review6y ago3 Reviews - Ptarmigan Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth my kids went to this school and every teacher they had was amazing, they always communicated with me and were on top of helping my younger one advance in reading. Any time there was a problem in school or on the bus the office staff was quick to remedy the problem. Everyone there was kind, patient, happy to be there and genuinely cared about the kids. I was also impressed with the office staff and principle, from what I could see they new ALL the kids by name (I volunteered at the school and was there for a couple of years quite often). I've heard from friends of some of the horror stories about the school their kids go to and the problems they are having and I'm shocked, I've only had wonderful experiences with Susitna. The learning scale I did mark average, because lets face it what kid wants to go to school (not many) and the special education I'm not sure at all, never interacted with that side of the school, but by judging the staff I can imagine they did great.Parent Review3y ago5 Reviews - Anchorage Christian Schools
