8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a tutor/mentor the staff made it very hard to find information about the student schedules and more information about the students progress. I felt as if they are just allowing the students to do bare minimal . In other terms " Passing them alone so then once they are done its not the school problem" The majority of students are not prepared for college. New students that transfer to the school are not assisted by guidance counselors to deal with separation and personality disorders. I asked my student how can we prepare for class when you have "NO BOOKS". I was told you cant... After visiting the school I found out that majority of the courses are online. Hmm... In order to help my student I need a syllabus of the work and a book or guide. Instead, I was told that I have to depend on the student to get the book from a teacher. How can I depend on the student when the main reason I need the book is because the student is not complying. So in other words I guess I will have no book. I was told I can contact the students teachers via email. Well all of them did not respond except for one. Hmm. Useless!!! I am very upset and it feels as if the school is setting the students up for FAILURE!!! All I want to do is help my students out but your making it impossible to do so when your website is USELESS AND YOUR STAFF!!!Other Review10y ago14 Reviews - Oakbrook Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended this school from 2nd to 5th grade, and I remember absolutely loving it. The activities were always very fun and creativity focused and in my experience the teachers and staff were extremely supportive. Not sure if they still do this but when I went on half days they would be club days and all students were required to join a club. There were tons of variety in the choices and I really love the idea of, for lack of better words, forcing kids to participate in those clubs and helping them to find things they enjoy while making friends with their peers. Feild days always included tons of activities and other events like color runs and dances were always enjoyable both during and out of school hours. I remember hating every time when they would have counselors come into class and teach about expressing feelings healthily and general mental health awareness but looking back, I think it's absolutely amazing that they cared to educate us on things like that while we were young. Seeing as I was a child I can't speak much on the actual quality of education but I do recall it being very parent involved and test scores look high so I guess they're doing pretty good in that regard. Cafeteria food was about as good as cafeteria food can be and the variety in play areas they had when I attended (2 playgrounds, a courtyard, laps around the carpool lane, and a small grassy area) was enjoyable and I rarely found myself bored. With all that being said, I haven't been at this school in nearly 5 years but if they still run it like they did back then I totally recommend it.Other Review11mo ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near Towering pine Dr.

"Family friendly and for the most part safe place for kids. Friendly people and good area. Recommend checking your zip code if you have kids to see what school is in that area because you’ll get zoned to that school. We don’t know that but got lucky with our son’s school. We love it and love it’s a mix of locals and others. Also love it’s still growing. "

"Nothing stands out to me - great little town to live and work in and love the weather. Traffic is a big negative but there really isn’t a lot that can be done about it as homes have been built."

"It is horrible. No matter what time you leave your home it’ll take you an hour to go 30 miles. The road rage is everywhere, due to people moving in from other areas for so called work. They should stay in their State and vote different!"
