Best school in the district! Also this website is wrong, our school offers more than just two career pathways. Some of the classes at our vocational school are marketing, nursing, early childhood, carpentry, auto tech, welding, animal science, etc. There are many opportunities at Boyd County to help students become college and career ready.

Both my boys went to this school last year and they were so pleased we all hate that they have to be leaving this year. They do focus on the kids walking in a straight line and keeping themselves to themselves but it is important that children learn to follow rules and learn about consequences at an early age. The teachers were excellent! My youngest had Mrs. Justice for Kindergarten and he loved her to death! She was very sweet and really cared about his education. Mrs. Barber was my oldest sons teacher and she was great too! My youngest has a speech problem and they really cared about helping him work through his troubles with speech. If I had to say something negative about the school it would be the lack of space in the tiny gym during school functions. I wish there was a way for them to stay in this school but it's not possible. I will recommend this school to anyone who asks!

This school is a joke . This is year two of my daughter being here and she has been struggling both years to pass. Her teachers don’t reach out to me until the end of the year telling me she’s failing. Then she gets sick and gets 2 unexcused absences and the state of Kentucky wants to threaten me with court. The teachers shove a Chromebook in her face and expect her to just know how to do the material. You all expect them to finish all the work that’s meant for school at home . When do these kids get a break or a chance to breathe? I wish we could move out of this district because Boyd county middle school is a joke of a school . Also the front desk reception is rude as all get out , she thought I left and started talking about me to another staff member while I was waiting to pick up my daughter . You all need to do better .
