I taught at this school years ago and I really enjoyed my experience at this school. I previously taught at a school in Ascension Parish and I hated it. At Henry Ford the students can actually read and comprehend what they read. At the school I worked at in Ascension Parish, I was lucky to have an eighth grade student read on a second grade level. At my school in Ascension we knew a couple of weeks prior to evaluation that the school was going to be evaluated and we went to the perfect school role and acted like a good school is supposed to act. It was nothing but a horse and pony show. When I accepted a job at Henry Ford, I thought that I died and went to heaven. I had no problems with the students and I was amazed at how efficient Henry Ford was. When some people told me that Henry Ford was the worst school in Jefferson Parish, I told those people that they sure didn't know what the word worst really meant. My only regret was that I wished that I had started my career working at a school in Jefferson Parish. At Ford, the teachers really cared for the students and the majority of students really cared about their education.

This school frequently engages in unreasonable practices and infringes upon students' basic freedoms. It treats students unfairly, specifically regarding the inconsistent confiscation of jackets. I observed one Asian student having their jacket confiscated while others did not—a potential sign of discrimination. Even other students wearing hoodies were not penalized. The school denies students the freedom to use the restrooms at will, instead imposing time limits that make attending to personal needs highly inconvenient. Some students are even rushed to finish quickly and are not permitted to remain in the restroom for more than five minutes, regardless of their personal needs. In summary, this school exhibits signs of discrimination, acts unjustifiably, treats students unfairly, and disregards their personal freedoms.
