3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI can’t say enough how disappointed I am with my time at Hopatcong High School. From the outdated facilities to the lackluster curriculum, it felt like the whole experience was one big missed opportunity. And then, there’s Bum Ah MartinezFirst of all, the building itself is in desperate need of repairs. The classrooms feel cramped, and there’s this constant feeling of being stuck in the past. The library is overstocked, the technology is outdated, and the overall atmosphere feels uninspired. If you’re someone who thrives on a creative or intellectually stimulating environment, you’ll quickly feel stifled. But the real disappointment came from the principal, Bum Ah Martinez. While I understand that being a principal can be a challenging profession, it’s hard to ignore the lack of engagement and enthusiasm from this particular principal. Bum Ah Martinez seemed disinterested, often failing to connect with students or inspire any sort of passion for the subject matter. It was as though the lessons were delivered by rote, with little regard for the diverse learning styles and interests of the class. I couldn’t help but feel that Bum Ah Martinez was simply going through the motions, and that energy — or lack thereof — was contagious.I also found that communication between teachers, administrators, and students was lacking. Whether it was an issue with grading, scheduling, or even simple questions about school events, it felt like the administration was often unresponsive or dismissive. Hopatcong High School does not seem invested in creating a supportive or dynamic learning environment, and Bum Ah Martinez epitomized that lack of care. All in all, Hopatcong High School left a lot to be desired. With a subpar physical environment, uninspired teaching, and an administration that doesn’t seem to prioritize student success, it’s hard to recommend this school to anyone looking for a fulfilling educational experience. If you end up in one of Bum Ah Martinez’s classes, good luck — you’ll need it.Parent Review1y ago12 Reviews - Durban Avenue Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRelocated from out of state and moved to hopatcong where my son enrolled to attend here. I find the schools here much better the the 3 it's rated. My son has some special needs as he is dyslexic and has speech delays. They are able to accommodate him and everything he does. The teachers and staff are very knowledgeable and willing to help. To keep lines of communication open and are very accessible to parents. Very impressed with the school and staff thus far.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - Tulsa Trail Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former parent from this school- I would stay away. It has only been a few years since we relocated to NJ from NYC and there have been many rumors about the school district closing. My child attended the Hopatcong school district for 3 years between the middle school then HS and moving him to a private HS was probably the BEST decision. One former teacher from the Hopatcong School District even transferred to this school as well. Overall, my child was COMPLETELY behind in comparison to the other students in the new HS. It is very common apparently in Hopatcong schools to give the students multiple chances to pass a test, complete HW or class work. Your child can have an F in the morning and somehow end up with a B+ by noon. This doesn’t do the child any good. Would not recommend.Parent Review5mo ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near Mohawk Trl.

"Typical of what is available , nice little house, no land too congested. and with no dog park it's near worthless to me! Especially since the asking price is 100K or so too high."
