9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love that the school also accepts cognia accredited languages like urdu, hindi, and arabic which my son & daughter are taking urdu, and arabic via Alia, a Gem Center language institute located in west plano/ frisxo border. When we went to morroco my son used the arabic he learned. My daughter speaks to my.mom.now in urdu!Parent Review6mo ago20 Reviews - Wester Middle School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a student, the teachers are (excuse me for swearing on Frank's name) frankly horrible. They get too comfortable with the students and treat them as friends, not as students. I have pretty good grades and that is only thanks to 3rd party resources. The teachers are absolutely useless here. For safety, I have seen more COMPLETE fights than stopped fights. I have watched people get bruised and beaten and nobody has done anything about it.Student Review7mo ago23 Reviews - Gunstream Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have 3 kids attending this school with one matriculating (to middle school) already. Gunstream is highly multiracial (and has always been) with students from very diverse backgrounds and cultures (many moving directly to the US from Turkey, Korea, India, Russia as an example). As a very highly active parent at this school for many years, I can say this group of administrators and teachers do put in a lot of time and effort into the students to ensure each student has an appropriate level of academic rigor as well as the appropriate level of support. I can say I know all of my students primary teachers very well as well as many of the supporting speech and dyslexia teachers and have a substantial amount of respect for the work they perform (e.g. Read a Dyslexia AARD Report, just WOW!). I am very proud that my children can grow up with students from vastly different cultures, first languages, religions and belief systems. There are local schools that are vastly different in terms of racial makeup (predominantly one race or another) which would not give them this experience so early in life. I also want to shout out to Principal Smolka who is retiring at the end of this year after 20+ years (since the beginning) at Gunstream. We will miss you so much! Also another shout out to Ms. Hay who retired recently but still substitutes regularly. You are an absolute blessing and an amazing person!Parent Review3y ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near Hillcrest Rd.

"A rapidly growing area with good schools, several churches easily accessible, and plenty of shopping. Though we are close to Dallas there is about all you need within 5 to 10 miles. As a result we seldom get far from home. "

"Frisco used to be a small farm community. People would stop in the street to chat without getting honked at. I miss that. "

"Beautiful neighborhoods but City managers have become greedy in development, tax collection, and approving too many high density living developments. Frisco is far gone from being a quaint small city with personality and considerate folks to a busy metro with irritable people."

"Frisco Square hosts so many event and activities throughout the year. There is also Toyota Stadium if you’re up for a soccer game. Too many amazing things to name. Main Street is the most charming downtown vibe with so many outdoor eateries and shops."
