"Best of best schools (and quite competitive as well), generally a safe place for youngsters. Haven’t heard of drug or alcohol problems. Kids of any age can safely walk alone from home to school bus pickup spot. "
  • Tsanders

"One of the best places in the US to live (I’ve lived in California, New York, New Jersey, Washington state and Michigan before settling in Plano. Excellent schools, great neighborhoods, safe place, family oriented. Excellent state university schools, low cost of living, job opportunities and lower cost of housing make Plano one of the best places to live. "
  • "Stonehaven Estates offers probably the best value in North Texas homes. If you have schoo-age or planning for kids, look no further. Wyatt is a Blue Ribbon awarded school, Rice is the best in North Texas and one of the best in the country; so is Jasper. We moved here from California and did a lot of research of various cities around the courntry but settled in Plano because of the value. Value is not cheap real estate; the value is the family-friendly people, very safe area, social setup, value-system, education funding, universities. It was clear from the research that North Dallas area, especially Plano, offered the best value in these terms. Now for price, you can't beat this area. a 3,000 SFT, 10 year old home for $ 270K avg price? A big bonus is if you travel frequently - DFW is one of the best airports in the country - so easy to get in & out of and well connected by the new 121 to areas like Plano, Allen & McKinney. 70 mph gets you home 28 miles away in 35 minutes."
