6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is awesome we have camping trips every year for example this year the sevenths grader went to camp mason and had a lot of activity to do also free time and pool time . One reason that I don't like this school is homework detention. Homework detention is if u dont do a homework u have to stay after school for 45 min but overall I like motthallvOther Review12y ago1 Reviews - The Cinema School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m gonna be honest, Even though the school creativity and events are super nice and the variety of activities at the school makes it easier to engage with the school, it’s never look as nice as they try to make it seem. I’ll be honest, if you really wanna learn about filming and photography this is not the right school as it’s called the Cinema School but barely does Cinematic stuff. I never felt safe in this places since lots of incidents have happened and the school didn’t even had the audacity to contact the parents. Whenever there’s a problem and you try to warn either a teacher, the dean, the counselors or the principal they don’t take it seriously and act like nothing is happening, then they wait for the problem to escalate and become even something worse and bigger, and when it’s time for the school to take action and responsibility about it, they just act like nothing happened, blame it all on the kids when it’s actually the staff’s fault for not taking action and barely do the minimum to fix the problem and don’t even try to help students with the aftermath of the problems. Is horrible to see this dying hell where even staff members set a bad example for the students while they go around cursing and vapping and acting just like students do. Please there are better schools than this one where there’s only gangsters and young criminals. I tried, we tried, lot of students tried to make it better and warn the staff about all problems that will happen but they just laughed it off like nothing. It’s crazy you’re suspending a child for 5 days just because they had their when they shouldn’t but how come you’re not suspending a student for threatening others and trying to fight abt everything? There’s a lot of stuff that have to be changed around in the school. But please I’m warning you, there’s better out there , better opportunities for your child. Don’t send them to this kind of school where majority of the children will just learn to hide their feelings and where their Mental health and self esteem will only get worse and worse than it could already have bee. It’s not worth it.Student Review9mo ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near Commonwealth Ave.

"Great place to live in, you don’t have to move out of the state in order to live in a great area. In addition to that you’re not far from the city and there’s plenty of mass transit. I recommend this place to anyone who’s looking to live there."

"Dog owners don’t pick up their dogs poop. Also they’re a lot of rude people who live and commute in the area. "

"A lot of time dogs are out of the owners control. A lot of medium to large sized dogs that pull and scare dogs that are much smaller. Also the possibility of being blamed for not picking up dog feces when in fact it’s the other people in the neighborhood. There is a lot of grass available for walking but it’s full of feces from other dogs going in it so it makes it difficult to walk your dog without stepping in something "

"It’s a two fare zone. You need a bus to get to the train or an express bus to the city. You can drive into the northern part of Manhattan in 14 minutes (no traffic) 40 minutes (traffic). "

"Best schools in area, quiet part of the bronx due to many private house, restaurants, plazas, numerous supermarkets, no street cleaning!! No moving cars twice a week !! All big parks have been updated like new!! Clason point city boats leaving every 30min-hour everyday. Subway close and buses are everywhere. Best place in the bronx period!! Water views are best! Come to soundview! "

"I have lived here for 5 years and there are ups and downs to the community. Overall it’s great, however small things like not picking up poop, car vandalism, and graffiti bring down its appeal. "

"There’s events in my neighborhood. Banks, restaurants and local bars. There is a even a cigar shop. Macy’s and marshal’s is a 25 min walk. All the best Indian food, Mexican , Dominican and Jamaica food close by. I have two tracks near by and a little long bike path in soundview park. The track is usually filled with people playing soccer but in the morning it’s available."
