NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy 6 year old goes here for kindergarten. When she starts she was already read, write knows basic math. Whole year nothing improved academically, whole year she trace her own name. This is unbelievable. She complained about learning nothing and nothing existed there, doesn’t want to go. The papers, works she brings from school is just waste of papers and time nothing could learn from. I feel sorry for my kid. Better to update, improve their curriculum.Parent Review2y ago4 Reviews - Ivy Hall Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my kids attended Ivy Hall school, and my younger one is in the 4th grade. Our experience as parents has been very positive and rewarding. The teachers new with less experience are smart and eager to educate and guide children. The school invests and provides our children with various activities other than studies like art, music etc. We liked that the school gave an opportunity to children to help “special needs kids”.Parent Review10y ago2 Reviews - Twin Groves Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to district 96 because we heard about good schools. Unfortunately, from grade 6th to 8th at Twin Grove I didn't have positive experience. I have 2 special need kids. My older one was bullied whole 6th grade and school after checking it didn't agree to it. My younger son was bullied by the same boy during a few months and school turned it my son's fault as he didn't complain right away as he couldn't when this boy stood on his feet every class and when my son pushed this boy of course everyone saw it... after talking with principal associate a few times and telling her it is bulling she said no... It took me months to protect my son from it. However it is not everything. Unfortunately, most of the teachers don't care about their students. They don't let parents know if a child didn't complete or should retake assignment. When you see it in many times it is too late as you see already the low score that doesn't show your child knowledge. I don't recommend this school for kids who might get bullied or need someone to help and support him. Teachers teach children as they in college, I mean if he wants he could take notes or not, but saying "if he would take notes he would remember it". No explanations to learn... Be ready to fight and support your child as school would do as minimum as they could!Other Review3w ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near Checker Dr.

"This is a very friendly neighborhood. We all get along well. Look out for each other. I’ve been here 22 years. The neighbors support each other during storms look out for each other’s houses when we’re out of town. Kids in the neighborhood are very respectful."

"Everyone in the area has at least two vehicles. Traffic flow is pretty good even during rush hour.. I live 9 miles away. I can get to work in 15 to 20 minutes. Depending on traffic. During ithe winter snow removal is excellent I don’t recall the plows not getting out before I leave work."

"I have lived here for 23 years and everyone looks out for each other. We have all watched each other’s kids grow up. Stevenson High school has been a big draw and was phenomenal for my kids.Everything you need is within 10 minutes in any direction. More people than not have dogs and we all stop and chat with each other. The neighborhood is very diverse and we all benefit from that.Every kid has either played soccer, flag football, baseball or was in dance and many of us become friends for life."
