9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have a student there now and another on the way next year- The community cares so much about the children attending school there. The teachers, educators, support and principal are always in support of the childrens needs. I enjoy seeing the teachers receive my child with a smile and warm support as they enter the building. The communication is always comfortable and easy.Parent Review2y ago31 Reviews - Hamilton International Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal is hostile towards the kids and their parents, instead of focusing on the kids learning and fostering an inclusive environment he goes on crusades to ban backpacks, he punishes kids for having panic attacks, he gets rid of fun things that were brought in to get the kids engaged and playing with each other. He doesn’t respond to parent emails. Does your kid have a 504 plan? You’ll never hear a word from the 504 coordinator, and you have to contact each teacher individually to communicate what your child’s 504 plan entails. If you have a choice in which school to send your kid to. Don’t choose Hamilton.Parent Review6mo ago24 Reviews - Lincoln High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLincoln High School is different from the ground up. Intentionally designed to build on decades of research about how students learn best - most of which are at odds with the way us parents were educated and consequently what we expect to see our children have to do. Many of the reviews on here are complaining because their kids are not experiencing what they experienced - i.e. lots of homework, no re-takes on tests, teaching to standardized tests and expecting very little self-directed learning. What works best for student learning has been known for decades. Changing the school system is nearly impossible though for the very reasons these parents are complaining - it's not like they did it so it must be wrong. This is why much of the way they taught at Lincoln was kept quiet till the school was well established and the success was seen in test scores and college performance. They even brought in a change management expert to help get parents to buy into these wild ideas when they were starting the school. Since it was started from the ground up, they worked within school district regulations and really mixed things up. The result? Students emerge being self directed learners not kids who only do what they are told. Yes, they have to find information and learn it on their own in order to do well on the standardized tests. This is great preparation for real life. Yes, they can take tests over again because the point is not the grade it is that you learned the material. Yes, there is a lot of freedom in how they approach a project or even a chemistry lab because it is about being able to think for yourself, not have the teacher tell you what to think. Is it different? YES. Does it frustrate me that my kid doesn't come home with homework? YES. Do I sometimes wish the teachers would "baby" my kid a little more giving them more help? YES. Is falling down and learning to pick yourself up on your own good for your kid? YES. Is equity a big topic in school? YES. Does research back up that kids are more innovative, better listeners and learn material better when they hear different perspectives, work with those not like themselves and have to figure things out on their own? Yup. Did it prepare my kids well for college? YES. Does Lincoln get as many or more kids into the top universities in the country than the $$$ private schools in the area? Yup. Are my / have my kids been happy there? VERY. Don't expect typical.Parent Review3w ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 3617-3617B Albion Pl N.

"I lived in this neighborhood for 2 years. It’s got a lot going on. Butts up against Green Lake Park, has plenty to restaurants that are walkable, and a decent nightlife on 45th"

"There’s poop bag stations located on the streets in case you forget yours or need another one. There are some patchy grass area but wish there could be more for dogs to use the restroom. That might be strategic. "

"Seattle’s funky neighborhood close to the city but far enough from downtown that it can still feel calm. Neighbors are nice and helpful, great place to live!"

"Too far. I have a either wait to get on the 5 or take the toll tunnel. I hate it. I work in Rainier so it seems like I’m always hitting traffic at the wrong time as well. "

"The unique people and locally run restaurants and shops. Still a neighborhood that is keeping the heart beat of seattle alone. "

"Easy 2 minute walk to a bus then a 10-15 minute bus ride to my office downtown. If I get a ride there can be traffic on Aurora, but it only adds a few minutes. "

"There is a big Solstice parade in the summertime filled with naked bike riders and floats through the streets. There are also many art installations throughout the neighborhood including the troll under the bridge, dinosaur hedges, the statue of Lenin, the spaceship and big Saturn. The list goes on. I love how close Fremont is to the canal trails and Gas Works park."

"You can go out any day of the week and there's generally always something going on. it's a neighborhood filled w/20 something's to early 40's, don't see a lot of kids but I'm sure they're around and that the future will bring even more. "

"None. We meet at terrific market Marketime and cafes. The only community center is green lake and you don’t really meet people much there. It’s crowded. There is good turnout for Woodland park sports... not much else"

"Along my block we always either wave hello if not say hello which is a welcome & appreciative thing since previously I lived in an area where no one knew their neighbor nor even really made eye contact with one another at the very least, which always felt silly to me. Also, everyone knows eachother's pets so if one of them happens to escape... they never get very far before they're seen by someone on the block and brought home in generally a quick enough lapse of time that the owner hasn't even noticed their absence yet! "It’s right in the heart of the city. Really good restaurants and bars within walking distance. It’s central to all neighborhoods making it easy to get around with or without a car. It’s right off lake union and close to gas works park. It also the Sunday Fremont farmers market within walking distance. It’s where the Solstice parade is held every June. "
