"Watch your children and don’t let them play/socialize with all kids in the neighborhood as there are different views, ways of living and also weirdos around."
  • Laura W
"I utilize my personal vehicle to commute to work each day. The commute is about 10-20 minutes depending on traffic."
  • Laura Wright
"Drive to and from work/home 5 days a week and frequently throughout the week for groceries, errands, etc."
  • Nikki.hammer
"Numerous parks nearby, safe neighborhood, friendly neighbors. Many people are out walking their dogs at any hour of the day. People here look out for each other. "
  • Trulia User
"Wonderful! A welcoming neighborhood with an active neighborhood community group. Close to downtown and close to freeway access."
  • Natalie.s.derricks
"I like the jazz in the park in the summertime at Washington park. And I go to valentine coffee like every morning before work "
  • Yasmindrucker
"My neighborhood has access to public transportation and schools. The community is very welcoming and it’s a nice place for children "
  • Manuela
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for about 2 years and I love how friendly neighbors are. It is also a perfect place for young families with kids and pets "
  • Tish F.
"Washington Heights is a gem in this city. If you want a mix of suburb feel yet city feel then this is the neighborhood for it. It’s diverse and quiet. We enjoy the music concert series in the summer and can’t wait for upcoming improvements to the playgrounds. A lot of parents send their kids to highland community school so I’ve met neighbors from school events as well"
  • Tish F.
"Good neighborhood for raising a family of you want to stay in the city. I enjoy the diversity and I have learned to quite a few neighbors through my daughters school and attending the concert series in the summer. My husband and I love it and the location being so close the the expressways. We want to relocate back to the DMV area but always say if we would stay, we would buy property in this area. "
  • Florence G.
"Great neighborhood to raise a family. Centrally located and diverse neighborhood. I recommend living here with kids without reservation or hesitation. "
  • Yasmindrucker
"This area is great for homeowners and renters. There are many parks and great schools nearby. This is also a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood."
  • Florence G.
"Perfect. I drive side streets to work which make the commute pleasant 95% of the time. There really isn’t a time that’s better than another. Overall the drive is the same."
  • Bryce L.
"I’ve lived on this neighborhood for 14 years. It’s quiet and friendly. And we’re 20 minutes from anywhere in the Greater Milwaukee area. We love living In The Heights!"
  • Dona
"I’ve lived here 30+ years and live it. Friendly, welcoming neighbors, close to great businesses, safe. Amazing neighborhood association."
  • Pcakes04
"The neighbors are really nice! Once you open up a little bit to each other, you gain this trust. And they look out for you and yours when need be. I am very appreciative of my neighbors. Tho it seems like gossip and “nosy”, they inform us of suspicious activities. Little things like that do mean a lot to us since these neighborhoods are getting targeted. "
  • Glod9170
"The architecture & tight knit community. I have been here all my life (48 years so far) & plan to stay...unless the warm weather of Phoenix finally lures me away."
  • Annarharries
"I have been here for almost a year and a half. The neighbors are friendly and very helpful. My block is very diverse with people of different ethnicities."
  • Lisa M.
"The people inn my neighborhood are friendly and will speak. There are lots of dog walkers. There are a line up of businesses in the area that are in walking distance. "
  • andrew s.
"Friendly, community-oriented atmosphere. People on the 52nd street block care about their homes and the surrounding area. Great area for dog walking and meeting others with dogs. Love it. Will miss this cozy area."
  • Kendall A. K.
"This is a marvelous area to live in. Friendly active neighborhood with a great association (voluntary membership). Association has set 9 areas of neighborhood to involve in activities - have block watches, and other activities, and to track issues, with representatives from each on the board as well as many subcommittees. There is a strong Green / Sustainability conciousness. Currently working on a Solar Initiative to add Solar Power to homes in the area at a discount. Walkability and Public Transit are good. Many nice shops, restaurants, theater, and entertainment choices in area as well as great parks and activities. Great for walkers and bikers with pathways close by. Safe street parking, block watch, quick access to downtown by city street or via 41 hwy spur. Centrally located to all the city has to offer!"
