4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been a student since Kindergarten and is now in 7th grade. The teachers and staff are very attentive and helpful. My child is in advanced classes and us doing well in those also. This school offers several academic programs as well extra curricular activities that involve not just the student, parents and school but involve the whole community. The town of Hillsboro closes down the streets for their parades during Homecoming, Christmas and allows the whole community to celebrate and join in on the spirit. Excellent school district.Parent Review2y ago3 Reviews - Hillsboro Middle Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagemany many issues. i do not recommend any of the Hillsboro schools my oldest was bullied and it even got physical and no one cared to address it. sad sad sad administration is only there for a paycheck. they took away my childs iep and she went to making all F's and they didnt want to give her the iep back so that was setting her up for failure for the next school year.Parent Review8mo ago2 Reviews - Hillsboro High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child currently attends Hillsboro High School, and overall, our experience has been positive. Many of the teachers treat students with respect and genuinely care about their well-being and academic progress. The school fosters a welcoming environment, and my child feels supported by several staff members. One area of concern, however, is the emphasis placed on sports, particularly football. At times, it seems that athletics take precedence over academics, which can be frustrating for students who are more focused on learning. While school spirit and extracurricular activities are important, I would appreciate a stronger balance between sports and education to ensure all students receive the attention and resources they need to succeed academically.Overall, Hillsboro High School offers a respectful and supportive atmosphere, but I hope to see continued improvements in prioritizing academics alongside athletics.Parent Review3mo ago8 Reviews - Hillsboro Jr. High School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagemy special ed child needed assistance with her lunch and never got any so most of her lunch was always sent back home. she would come home crying because she was so hungry. she needed one on one and never got any assistance with that. she had GI issues the school tried sending her home over even though they knew what was going on they just didn't want to deal with it. (discrimination). they tried assigning her a chrome book she has no comprehension she's special ed seriously. she was left handed until the school obliviously forced her into using her right hand. her left is so much better. that was not there choice to make. many many issues. i do not recommend any of the Hillsboro schools my oldest was bullied and it even got physical and no one cared to address it. sad sad sad administration is only there for a paycheck.Parent Review8mo ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near Victoria Rd.

"I live close to Main Street, HwY 21 and Hwy 110 so my drive to town is simple. If going south toward Farmington it’s about 35 minutes. If I’m going toward Arnold it is 35 minutes also. The scenic route of Hwy 21 is preferred over the construction and constant traffic on Hwy 55. Hwy 67 is not bad, nice drive, but 55 is not worth it to me."

"Towns are a bit rural so a car is needed. Although you’re in the country their are available stores and I quick 10-20 minute drive gets you to a larger selection of stores and restaurants "

"Community activities often, especially for kids. Neighborhood fireworks, trick or treating hayrides, hide and seek games for the kids in the summer, 2 annual yard sales, raffles for donated items to help pay for playgrounds, and to enhance community areas and park as well as the beach, fishing tournaments. "De Soto is a great place to live depending on the area. Theres some places I would not personally live with small children or myself for that matter. but overall De Soto is a great town that everything is all together and easy to get to. Lots of parks close by and places to swim."

"Roads are part of HOA and aren’t maintained. Highway 21 has a lot of accidents. House needs a lot of work and overpriced for Washington County"

"I find most people are friendly. There are many community events throughout most of the of the year. There is definitely a strong sense of patriotism here. The down side is, the school's curriculum calls for the children to be taught the most useless math. If you own pets, especially dogs, you will not find anywhere, within at least 30 miles of DeSoto, to rent a house. There is a visible population of drug users in town. "

" The town has little to offer young people. I think our small town is in need for more restaurants. I would really enjoy a captain D's restaurant and a Arby's. "

"I've lived here since 2011. My shop and office are on site. View is great. Lots of wild life. Have game cams set up around the property to capture pictures of wild life. Neighbors on three sides have horses. Completely peaceful. Country living yet only five minutes from shopping and restaurants."
