N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis has been a good school and my son has learned a lot with the teachers he has had so far. The staff is courteous and well mannered. I however would love for so many of the parents to learn from this example as well. Parents are disrespectful and do not always follow guidelines. Drop off and pick up times are a mess and this is due mainly to adults not following rules. They park wherever its "convenient" for them so that they don't have to walk with no regards for anyone else around them. People do not follow the speed limit warnings and all this just makes what should be a normal experience into such a headache.Parent Review11y ago - El Dorado High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was in Kindergarten here. His teacher constantly put him down, his self esteem was awful. By the end of the year he was filled with anxiety about what she would say to him if he did anything she didn’t like. He was bullied and I never once was told about it, I had to bring up all the incidents to get any clarity including another child “spanking him”. The teacher constantly communicated things to the kids, to tell parents (these are 6 year olds - honestly not the best choice). Lastly, my son had virtually no academic growth, even after we met with the teacher several times to understand his academic data, which she couldn’t provide us. On the very last day of school they wanted to force us to promote him to first grade by signing a form. We’re moving him to charter. I’ve worked for public schools in many places, this school is messy.Parent Review1y ago - Mission Early College High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a senior at Mission Early College High School. My main concern with MECHS is the incessant push to attend UTEP. It is apparent that going to another university is discouraged. I have also found a problem with some of the teachers. Most teachers at MECHS are extremely dedicated to their students. However, there are a handful of teachers that do not care and do a very poor job at teaching. One time, I had a final exam that was prepared and graded by a teacher's hand-picked group of favorites. Worse, the office did nothing about it. At MECHS, teachers have authority, and the office does not engage in the affairs of the classroom. So in reality, teachers are left to their own devices. What I find most worrisome about MECHS is the have, have-not divide between the students. Those who graduated EPCC early and are enrolled in UTEP their senior year are heavily favored and are given blatant special treatment. However, despite the negatives, this school attempts to blend the structure of high school with the freedoms of college. The administration respects and trusts the students. Overall, this school is overhyped, but it has some very bright spots.Student Review13y ago - Spec Rafael Hernando Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son says that he keeps getting bullied in this school. HE says that all the information that he learns is not useful and the teachers don't give him enough information to do the homework. Every time he's done with remote learning he gets frustrated with everything. My son had a passion for learning but now he doesn't want to go to school anymore. I understand that everything is online but this school could have at least made it easier for students to learn. I do not recommend this school.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 3317 Tierra Jazmin Ln.
