7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLummis Elementary school is a place where students are provided with experiences to enrich their minds, social skills and learn to be outstanding citizens in the community. Students are surrounded by faculty who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their profession. Community outreach experiences provide Lummis Lasers with an opportunity to look past themselves and find joy in caring for others. The PTA is a wonderful bridge between school and home- always organizing activities to engage families in their students education. The administration is passionate about what’s best for kids. They set high expectations for behavior, which has unfortunately become lax in other schools. This allows for maximized learning time with minimized interruptions. If you are looking for a place to be an equal partner in your child’s education and part of a community with a shared focus on creating life long learners, Lummis is the place for you.Parent Review3mo ago17 Reviews - Ernest Becker Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school doesn't take bullying seriously. They dont ask for other sides and they favorite white kids. Education is okay but the counsilors and teachers take sides. My friend was a victim of bullying but their bully reported first and they didnt ask to hear his side. He lost disney privileges in which he paid $535 for. I don't recommend not a single bit.Other Review1mo ago17 Reviews - Palo Verde High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEducation: For me, I'm not too disappointed with the education I got as an AP/IB student. The upper level teachers are pretty motivated and supportive (especially the AP STEM department), and have helped me achieve admission into my reach schools. As for the Honors/Regular coursework experience, I've heard horror stories of teachers openly allowing students to fail, not showing up to class, making weird sexual remarks, and disappearing midway through the year. Administration: Yikes. There's one person in the upper administration who publicly shames the students, pretty much harassing them for minor faults like dress code, jogging around (4 minute passing time for such a big campus is pretty diabolical), and just having harmless play with friends. I honestly AVOIDED them like the black plague and everyone else did too, except the kids that purposely tried to get on their good side. The other admins are pretty cool, I got to know them while I did office aide and they're generally good people. Many don't like the principal, but I think she is just fine.Social: In my experience, the social culture is a hit or miss. Generally speaking, the kids aren't very open minded. Your best bet of finding your friends is to join a group of some sort (sport/music/arts/etc) in freshman year. Very cliquey. I found that its quite easy to get singled out, it often feels like you know everyone but majority of the time, they're emotionally unavailable. For the amount of people at this school, you'll only find a very select few to socially connect with. OVERALL: Palo wasn't the worst, but definitely not the best. I've had good and bad times, and have made memories I'll forever cherish here, but if I were to reel back time, would I choose it again? Most likely not.Other Review10mo ago32 Reviews - Check out schools near 9805.

"Good place to live for an outdoor lifestyle. Even though prices have risen, you still get a lot of home and comfort for the cost of living. "

"It’s a great place to live with a dog except the hot summer heat and lack of dog parks close by. The closest dog parks are a 13-15 minute drive. The area however is very well maintained and there are lots of trails and regular local parks…"

"The community has fun seasonal events for the family and nice community centers offer pools, classes, and kids’ camps. Many parks are a fun and lovely place to play and walk. My kids had a huge group of friends all growing up together in the community. "

"We have events at our complex about once a month. Everyone seems to enjoy the events and most of the people who own dogs tend to gather and let their dogs play in a few well tended areas. It’s fun for everybody…. Including the 4 legged, furry residents"

"Lots of dog poop bags and receptacles. However, some dont take advantage of this. The neighborhood is safe to walk , even at night, no worries. However some areas do have scorpions on the ground so you have to watch out for that, especially with small dogs. Lots of parks that allow leashed dogs. "

"Everything is in close proximity. From schools to church, food places, gyms, community parks and amenities, dentists, doctors and hospitals. I live in a safe neighborhood where neighbors watch over our house when we’re not around even when not asked to do so. My family and I ride the nike in summertime at 10-11pm because of the heat but never encountered problems on the road in doing so. I love where I live!"
