About this House

With its stunning views overlooking the Verdugo Mountains, this beautiful home is an urban retreat hidden in the city. The welcoming front porch invites you into a large formal living room with fireplace that flows wonderfully between the multiple entertainment areas of the house. The separate dining room features French doors on two sides that create a lovely sightline to the backyard and that keep the interior bright and open. Imagine the meals you could cook in the spacious updated kitchen, which features granite countertops, Cherry wood cabinets and stainless-steel appliances. The TV den area off the living room was opened up to create an open concept great room, but it could easily be converted back to a third bedroom. The primary bedroom at the front of the house includes an ensuite three quarter bath and showcases the canyon views, giving you the feeling that you are waking up in a treehouse. Down the hall you'll find an additional full bath with a large soaking tub and skylight. The second bedroom is currently set up as the perfect work from home space with a custom built in desk that is still easily removable. Outside, the tiered backyard is an ideal example of indoor-outdoor California living at it's finest. Shaded by a mature tree, the large stone patio is an extension of your indoor space and even includes an outdoor kitchen equipped with a full range and oven. The final unexpected bonus is the incredible studio space in the 475 sq ft garage. Featuring high ceilings, a projector for screenings, a workbench space and desk area, this unbelievable man cave would make the perfect music studio, workshop or artistic space. With the garage door still present, car enthusiasts can easily still use the space as a traditional garage. Nurture your creative spirit in this sanctuary in the hills and welcome home to canyon living!

"I live on Altura Ave and my neighbors are some of the best people I know. My neighbors older son goes to the same school as my oldest and he drives him to school. In the summer months our neighbor lets my kids use his pool to cool off."
  • Trulia User
"Community keeps to themselves mostly now. There used to be a 4th of July show at the high school but there hasn’t been one since covid."
  • Lisa R.
"To hunger is a eclectic group of housing. I love how unique it is. People are friendly, they have dogs, they are commonly out walking. It is super quiet there’s lots of wildlife. He wake up to birds chirping, no helicopters, no sirens, it truly is getting out of the city. It is filled with beautiful trees and the only thing I wish we had was better roads and sidewalks. I would highly recommend Tujunga as an up-and-coming community that is near really good schools in La Crecenta that you can get your children into if you live in Tujunga.I think people try to downplay to hunger because they don’t want people finding this location. I have a lot of people that do deliveries and when they get here they say wow where is this place it’s really cool."
  • Chiquitafilipina
"Short by car less than 20 mins to and from work and from my kid’s school. Sometimes very traffic in the mornings since there is only one major freeway before the next major freeway 3 miles away. "
  • Laurenbethpm

"People are friendly and you feel safe here. Neighbors all look out for each other. The air is better and the drivers are not so rude like the ones in LA."
  • Susan L.
"Sunland-Tujunga is tucked away off the 210 fwy. Unless you drive the 210 fwy you may not know it exists. Used to known as “Biker Town” due to all the choppers that would ride up and down Foothill Blvd on Sunday’s. I’ve lived here all my life - that’s 51 yrs."
