I had to see fights between students, one of my teacher’s was being VERY inappropriate with a student that was literally 12. And i got bullied a lot, i turned to my guidance counselor and she ended up sending me to a mental hospital. Terrible schoolOther Review2y ago16 Reviews - Woodrow Wilson Senior High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far, I like this school a lot. They let you get lunch more than 1 time and have different choices for lunch. The garden is nice and the teachers are also nice. At first I thought my math teacher Mr. Morse would be mean but he's a funny and understanding teacher. My grade went from a D in math to a C from tutoring. My grades are good but my pe teacher isn't very understanding. My mom tells me to not run if I can't because of my asthma but my pe teacher makes me run another lap if I even walk a little. Recently, after even a short lap I've been feeling nausea but my pe teacher doesn't care. My English/history teacher let's us go to the garden after a lot of work, I'd say she's a good teacher. Over all, this school's good.Student Review2y ago6 Reviews - Benjamin Franklin Senior High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe couldn't be happier. The principal and progressive curriculum are rare in this giant district. The fact that it is not a Title # school means that the parents can be more involved. Their involvement makes for some *very* high-guality enrichment: gardening, art, music, loose-parts creative play, robotics, radio production, theater. Each year it improves and expands based on the talents and ideas of the parents. It's an incredibly tight community in which the kids thrive.Parent Review5y ago18 Reviews - Sotomayor Arts and Sciences Magnet

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageToday I had the pleasure of meeting with my scholar’s college counselor Ms. Kelly Andrade, and I must say I left feeling so excited and deeply grateful. She brought her fresh energy that kids can relate to along with professionalism and genuine passion that went beyond what I expected. After our meeting I felt like my kid could move an entire village under her mentorship! To be fully transparent, when I first scheduled to meet with ECALs college counselor, I was initially nervous as I had met the prior one during parents night and my husband and I were not impressed nor did we feel confident she could rise to the occasion. But today’s meeting quickly turned those jitters into excitement, motivation, and confidence that my child is on the right path. Ms. Andrade took the time to truly understand my child’s goals, strengths, and was transparent with potential barriers that might arise. She tailored a plan for our child and implemented strategies to keep us connected so we can move forward with a clear path. As a parent having guidance in such a pivotal moment in a child’s life is paramount and we feel she is the perfect person for the job. We feel so excited for the next steps and she is the counselor thus far that every child deserves. Thank you Ms. Andrade for going above and beyond we are truly lucky to have you.Parent Review1y ago2 Reviews - Alliance Tennenbaum Family Technology High

"Many people have dogs in this neighborhood and we all walk them all of the time. I’ve met so many lovely people while walking my dogs in the neighborhood. People also really care about their pets around here and we never see animals that look neglected or mistreated. "

"Mt Washington is LA’s best kept secret. Hilly, quiet, nature abounds. Trees and wildlife everywhere, everyone is friendly. I know all my neighbors for the first time since I was a kid. great public school. Trails. parks. And right up the hill from lots of great restaurants, bars, and shopping in Highland Park and Eagle Rock. "

"I've lived in this area for 9 years and love it, although the housing market has shot up in that time and its not somewhere I personally can afford to buy. its is, in my opinion one of the most beautiful places in LA. With gentrification has come a multitude of cool bars and restaurants. Its pretty great overall and I'll be sad to leave it when I buy outside the city."

" My friend is moving from here after 25 years so I’ve practically lived here also. And her street is a dead end which is peaceful. Up at the top of Mt Washington and the view is spectacular. East, West, and North. Always 10 degrees cooler than Pasadena. And with a breeze. Wish I lived here. Those who do are the lucky ones. "
