waiting to eat with my grandson at Sedalia elementary today I had the opportunity to watch Mr Allen aid a special needs student eating lunch. Very touching to see the tender loving care with which he performed this kind act.

I am very unhappy with this school. Their is very poor school-parent communication; the teachers have no control in the classrooms; the schedules are a mess; even the sports teams' coaches are ridiculously bias. My son is very smart & in algebra for 8th grade but they also gave him regular math; so everything he learns in algebra, he learns 2 months later in regular math. It is the most asinine setup. He consistently comes home & tells us how terrible the kids in his class behave. I wouldn't reccomend this school to anyone....you're best to move to a different district.

I think overall the teachers genuinely care about the students and want to see them successful. The biggest issues I see are acceptance and the athletic programs. We moved here from a different state and our son is sort of outcasted by the locals as are we (his parents) also. The community itself is not very accepting of outsiders. The athletics program needs work. There is no funding from the school for most after school programs so the parents have to pay or do all of the work on the grounds. It is a "good ole boy" type of program so even if you volunteer, if you are not one of 'their people' you aren't selected. My son is in all honors & AP classes however all of the courses have been super easy for him & rarely does he have homework so I am not very confident in the education he is receiving. The program they use for testing doesn't allow you to see the graded test so if you get something wrong, you have no idea what it is in order to work on that subject. My suggestion would be to skip Graves & go to the Murray school district if you want your chilld to succeed academically.
