4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is ridiculous....this is why we have so many school shootings because schood does nothing when it comes to bullying....my daughter was tripped by a boy in school today and i told the asst principal and she said she couldnt do anything about it....even though it happened at school. Think twice before putting your kids in this school.Parent Review1y ago - Lake Highlands High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI hate this school so much. Its like were in a prison. And to make things worse, the staff is so rude and cold to students. They make you feel so small. Its either do what they say or face the consequences, we’re literally teenagers/kids what more do they want from us. Being in this school sucks so much and i hate it, i wish i could just move so i wouldnt be there anymore.Student Review1mo ago - Aikin Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageYou know that you are going to experience a team of excellence from the moment you walk through the doors at Aikin. The office staff that greet you take professionalism to a whole new level. I think they know every child & parent individually. The teaching staff are second to none. Each child is given a hug & words of encouragement multiple times per day by the teachers. Teachers provide structure, guidance, & compassion consistently. They bring new & innovative techniques/approaches into the class. I’m incredibly grateful for the job they’re doing teaching my son.The Administration are equally progressive & compassionate. They seem to be supportive of the staff & want great things for the children. The goal is to touch every child in a meaningful way in order to help them grow into healthy & productive future generations. The blood, sweat, & tears shed by all staff at Aikin will accomplish that.Aikin is a beautiful melting pot. There are children from all over the globe. Many of these children have limited formal education & English skills. Many of these children are in a completely foreign & scary place, which makes the reassurances that are provided by school staff so imperative. Unfortunately, I don’t think Aikin receives the amount of support they truly need in order to help these children progress as quickly as they need to progress in order to be successful on their educational journey. That is NO fault of the exemplary staff at Aikin, but is the failure of Richardson ISD in the provision of the necessary services to schools with this population of students. This school needs extra resources to help these children compete in the modern educational system & the workforce of tomorrow. Aikin is providing THE BEST foundation that’s humanly possible to provide. I believe that it is this reason that the school scores are low. The children simply need more intensive service than the staff are capable of providing. I know every staff member wants to provide that degree of educational service, but it’s just is not humanly possible when they have 20+ students that need that same level of services. If you send your child to Aikin, rest easy, because they’re in GREAT hands. Your child will be uplifted by exceptional staff, & have the amazing learning experience. Don’t let those scores scare you.Parent Review7y ago - Check out schools near 9250 Flickering Shadow Dr.

"If you don’t like walking your dog on a leash to you’ll fit right in around here. It’s not great because people like hauling it down side streets to avoid the constant construction that slows down the larger streets around here. But at least if your dog gets hit by a car it will probably die quickly thanks to the speed that people are driving. "

"You will 70% step on poop. Living in an apartment complex, there are plenty of owners who will allow their dog to defecate, pee and throw up in elevators and stairs. Irresponsible owners and sometimes untamed/unsocialized dogs. I would beware of coyotes and keep an eye out for scraps left by homeless people near the transit. "
