If you are looking to live in the mountains away from it all, but still be able to get to it all quickly when you need to, this is your home.

This one of a kind family cabin is a naturalist's dream. Backing right up to the Tonto National Forest, hiking, riding, backpacking, bird watching, exploring are a single step away. Fossil Creak to the west and Tonto Natural Bridge to the east positions this cabin in the heart of "Rim Country". A short 20 minute drive into Payson for work or, if you're lucky enough to work remotely, no commute at all!

This rustic cabin in the woods has been in our family for more than 40 years. The original owner/builder was a master craftsman, repurposing materials from buildings like the old Elk's Lodge in Phoenix. Exposed wood beams, textured real-wood paneling, custom cabinets, and interior stonework all speak to a one of a kind, authentic cabin experience. Recent upgrades to the property include a new septic system, all new plumbing and electrical, lighting, furniture, locally sourced pinewood finishes, and the addition of a full bathroom upstairs.

Downtown Strawberry's restaurants, bars, and shops are just a few minutes car ride away with additional grocery store, gas, restaurants, and other necessary services located 10 minutes away in Pine or 20 minutes away in Payson. Rest and recover from your long day on the spacious front deck while watching the wildlife mosey by almost every day! If you're looking for privacy and access to all of the amenities this beautiful area has to offer you won't be disappointed.

Parking on the property is limited to 4 vehicles.

Outdoor fires are not allowed on the property.

Employment: Minimum of 6 months at current job or steady self-employment with documentation.

Credit Score: 650+ preferred. Below that may require a co-signer or higher deposit.

Rental History: No evictions in the last 5 years. 2+ years of solid rental history with positive references.

Criminal Background: No violent, property, or serious drug offenses within the past 7 years.

ID Requirements: Government-issued photo ID and SSN or ITIN. All adults 18+ must apply.

Occupancy: 2 persons per bedroom.

Fees & Deposit: Non-refundable application fee per adult. Security deposit typically one month's rent.

Pet Policy: Case-by-case approval. Pet fees and pet rent apply. No fees for verified service animals.

Disqualifiers: False info, unverifiable income, or threatening behavior during the process.
We follow Fair Housing laws to the letter everyone is treated equally, with no exceptions.

Preference for long-term rentals of six months or more. Willing to consider shorter-term rentals.

    "Pine is a beautiful, small, friendly mountain town located about 15 minutes north of Payson. The town is a mixture of full time and part time residences who live in Pine for the beauty and peacefulness of the community. There is a hardware store, grocery store, gas station and other amenities such as hair salon, yoga studio, etc. Payson has major amenities such as big name grocery stores, walmart, a movie theater, many restaurants, hospital, etc all within a 15 minute drive from Pine. The nightlife in Pine is minimal, however there is a local saloon and a local brewery which do a great job catering to those who wish. There is a community center in Pine where all of the summer, spring and fall festivals take place. The festivals usually consist of vendors selling their handmade goods and other vendors selling food. There is also a "small-town" Halloween event and Christmas event that take place. The kids love these events as they are not over crowded and it is good ole fashioned fun. The local community does a wonderful job at maintaining the town. I have never seen litter or torn up roads in Pine. The community is also very concerned with fire hazards so they all do a great job in maintaining their properties so they are fire wise. We love that we can walk every where we go in Pine. We love that the children are safe to play outside and we love that people all seem to know each other. Within 30-45 minutes of Pine, many of the Rim lakes are accessible. There are tons of hiking trails and beautiful streams to play or fish in all within a few minutes of Pine. Tonto Natural Bridge is about 5-10 minutes away and is a sought after place for visitors who come to town to want to go. Pine is a perfect place for a second home. It is a quick drive from Phoenix and the highway is much less congested than I17 leading to Prescott or Flagstaff. I would recommend Pine for families, couples, singles and retirees alike."
