Live above it all at Trestle House North, a custom-designed unfurnished home by acclaimed architect Michael Rex. Nestled into the Sausalito hills and surrounded by natural beauty, this one-of-a-kind residence offers a seamless blend of serenity, modern luxury, and iconic views. Inspired by Big Sur and crafted with care in 2007, this three-story home delivers a rare rental experience—equal parts elegance and retreat. Inside, you'll find over 2,500 square feet (approx.) of finely finished living space, including three spacious bedrooms, a dedicated office, two and a half baths, and a custom laundry room with built-in cabinetry. Brazilian mahogany floors, soaring ceilings, and rich wood beams set the tone for a refined yet relaxed environment. The grand entry welcomes you with a dramatic water feature, serene creek sounds, and even a private wine cellar. The open-concept main level is made for both entertaining and unwinding, with floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass walls that frame breathtaking views of the bay, Alcatraz, and the East Bay Hills. The chef’s kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances, including a six-burner Wolf range, Miele double ovens, Sub-Zero wine fridge, and a sleek Miele dishwasher—all complemented by newly refreshed cabinetry. The primary suite feels like a personal sanctuary with vaulted ceilings, panoramic views, and a spa-inspired en suite bath. Featuring a traditional Japanese Ofuro soaking tub, steam shower, and double vanity, it’s a daily retreat that overlooks tiered stone landscaping and a babbling brook—a scene that feels worlds away, yet only minutes from downtown Sausalito and San Francisco. Multiple outdoor areas extend your living space with a spacious front deck, a patio off the main level, and terraced garden spaces for lounging or dining al fresco. A one-car garage and paver driveway offer parking for up to three vehicles, designed to blend beautifully with the landscape and elevate the home’s curb appeal. "It’s a great neighborhood to walk in but there are not a lot of sidewalks. So you have to constantly listen for cars, which unfortunately are often driven too fast without a lot of considerations for pedestrians.. "
  • Shawna
"Small streets and cars can get close when walking dogs. But most people are very pet friendly and like seeing the dogs"
  • Megan M.
"I've lived in this neighborhood for 5 years. I'm looking to move into a larger house and I know I want to stay in Sausalito. It's convenient to get to central and northern Marin as well as close enough to SF. Having the water so close by is wonderful!"
  • Megan M.
"Super easy. I commute against rush hour traffic each direction. Right now I am working from home, so I do not commute at all. "
  • Teriklang

"Lots of fun kiddo things to do. Bad grade school (K-5th) public schools. The middle school and high schools are in the next city up ( one exit) and are quite good. Otherwise, the southern marin mothers group is very active here for noms of young kids and there are several fantastic private school for all educational philosophies. Overall, a great city for kids. Lots of tourist activity, but strong neighbor support. Lots of parks public spaces and restaurants that are kid friendly. "
  • Jorge P.
