As a family member of a recently hired staff member, I have observed deeply concerning patterns in this school’s administrative practices over the past month. My family member was assigned responsibilities across four distinct roles without adequate training, clearly defined expectations, or collaborative support from the principal or fellow staff members.When challenges naturally arose due to this unsustainable workload, the response from leadership was not to offer mentorship, constructive feedback, or problem-solving assistance, but rather to suggest seeking employment elsewhere. This dismissive and unprofessional approach to personnel management speaks volumes about the school's internal culture.A school's primary responsibility is to its students, and the treatment of its staff is the most accurate indicator of how the school operates as a whole. When educators and support staff are made to feel unwelcome, undervalued, and are denied basic professional courtesy, it fosters a high-turnover environment that directly destabilizes the learning experience. Students thrive when they are surrounded by secure, respected, and well-supported adults.I sincerely hope the administration reevaluates its leadership strategies and prioritizes building a collaborative, respectful workplace. Investing in staff retention and proper onboarding is not just good for employees—it is fundamentally essential for the safety, well-being, and academic success of the students.

Last year was the first year my son started school at Morris. I was crying down the hall and the principal secretary saw me hugged me and cried with me, she looked into my eyes and reassured me my baby is in the BEST class and school that he could be in. I believed her and I still believe that Morris is the best school. I was so happy to see her greeting us every morning with her big welcoming smile at the front door of the school. I hope she is there again to welcome us.
