Their PE teacher is very disrespectful and is always yelling at students fr how they dress and what they wear. They take children's phones and don't give them back.Their techers are really disrespectful and its horribleParent Review2y ago - Granby High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTo initially clarify, this review is both highly personalized and subjective; and it won't cover the full scope a typical student at Granby would face. In order to ascertain my credibility, I shall establish my ethos (credibility). I'm a current student at Granby High school - sophomore, to be specific - and in the IB program, I will become a Junior rather shortly, as it is June, I take multiple IB/AP classes, and also attend the Governor's School for the arts in tandem with Granby.Firstly; the positives. Granby has an amazing teaching staff...Somewhat. From my 2 years of experience, on average, you will get 2 absolutely amazing teachers, a bunch of decent teachers, and 1 to 2 teachers that would make you genuinely consider self-mutilation as better than taking their class. Let's focus on the good teachers, however. Practically all of the teachers are open to criticism and emails, having quite amicable personalities. Those amazing teachers that you get (Props out to Dr. Ford, absolute legend) will make your classes more than just bearable, it will be an actual sensation that, for once, you actually desire to attend. Unfortunately, this is probably where all the positives end...Now...the myriad of negatives. It would take too much time to explain them all, so I'm just going to list them. -Certain abhorrent teachers-Condescending staff (New principal Thomas Smigiel is pretty decent, though)-10s of people skipping class in the bathrooms-Some hallways smell like weed...constantly. -Fights daily (emphasize on the daily) -You are practically treated like herd animals or any other equivalent.-Our "Track" is actually non-existent (we have good tennis courts and baseball field, however)-Infrastructure standard/grade is barely legal; dismal. (this is hyperbole, but the point stands)-School food...might as well eat straight from the dumpster, provides the same nutritional benefits and has a better taste.-Real lack of emotional support, we may have more counselors than any other school, but does it matter if the school environment itself is more mentally taxing than if you were to take 2 AP exams at once with half the allotted time?In short; the academic facilities at Granby - even within the IB program, and especially the regular courses - are mediocre, borderline purgatory, at the very most. In reality, it's probably not as bad as I make it out to seem, I tend to exaggerate things - hence my introduction - But I agree with all that I said.Parent Review1y ago - Norview Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf I could give zero stars I would. The bullying, fighting, lack of communication is atrocious. Teacher and staff do not protect, teach, or care about the students education or safety. Racism is off the charts. There is no homework sent home. Communication does not exist. Third party organizations are brought in without parent notification. Few after school programs offered. My children actually slide backwards in less than 3 months. Do NOT send your child to this school.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 8238 McCloy Rd.

"I would say that it’s a okay place to have dogs. Depends on what park of the neighborhood you live. There a few good dog owners in the area. I have my dogs here. "

"Our neighborhood has lots of home owners. Many people walk dogs and go running. Crime is very low. The schools are well located and close."

"it's close to walmart if you like convenient groceries but the area itself is nice for morning or evening runs and the area is being updated consistently lots of new houses replacing the old"

"We've lived here for 7 years and the neighbors are generally friendly and quiet. There is a good mix of young families and older established families. The yards are almost all a good size even if the homes are small. For a starter home, this is a great place to start. You're withing walking distance of a newly refurbished elementary school, close to a Wal-Mart hypercenter and a K-mart. There are a couple of okay restaurants nearby and it's close to bus stops and freeway on ramps. most places in Hampton Roads aren't more than 20 minutes away. From my driveway to the piers at NOB is 8 miles. Little Creek NAB is only about 15 minutes away. The best part is you don't get the noise from Oceana. Occasionally you'll hear the C-17s and C-5s take off. The E-3s fly overhead but they don't drown out conversation. Very, very rarely will the F/A-18s fly out of NOB."
