Description

Recently remodeled 2bed/1bath, spacious ~1,000 sq ft mother-in-law basement apartment in a classic Green Lake craftsman. Kitchen and bathroom were just fully remodeled and full unit was painted. Amazing central location just 2 blocks north of Green Lake, close to I-5 and Aurora/99, on major bus lines, and close to many restaurants. Available now.

Unit:
Bottom (basement) floor of a 3-level house (mother-in-law unit)
Gets excellent natural light for a basement and has comfortable ceiling height
Open, efficient floor plan with 2 bedrooms
Includes use of a manicured shared backyard with space for planting vegetables and herbs
Unit has its own large laundry room with washer/dryer
Full newly updated kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge, oven
Brand-new bathroom remodel with modern fixtures and large shower
Unit has its own dedicated AC/heating unit
Ample storage
Unfurnished
We live upstairs and are a young professional couple with 2 young boys (ages 9 and 11)
We try to keep the kids on the top floor from about 8pm 7am so it's quiet then, and the kids are often out of the house during the day. Some normal family noise can be heard in the mornings and evenings, though previous tenants have said it hasn't been an issue.

Location:
2 blocks to Green Lake, shops, and restaurants
Very close to bus lines to downtown, Northgate, South Lake Union, UW, Capitol Hill
Quiet, family-friendly neighborhood
Ample street parking in front of the house
Close to Wallingford, Fremont, Phinney Ridge, Ballard, and Green Lake

You:
We live upstairs, so we are looking for both great neighbors and tenants
Should be friendly, respectful, clean, and non-smoking
Good rental history
We are open to dogs (we don't have one), but prefer they don't use the backyard
We are both fully vaccinated; prefer vaccinated tenants as well

Due before move-in: First month's rent ($2,400), refundable security deposit ($2,400), non-refundable cleaning fee ($150)
Flexible on length of lease, but prefer tenants that plan to stay 6+ months.
$100 per person per month covers all utilities (water, sewer, garbage, gas, electricity, and WIFI)

"No body picks up after their dogs since they walk BLOCKS just to use the SAME GRASS SPOTS EVERYONE ELSE USES OR GO IN FRONT OF OTHERS PRIVATE LAWNS thinking no one is going to catch them. "
  • Trulia User
"It’s not family friend but areas outside the Main Street with shops or areas close to university village are nicer for families "
  • Ailsasmom
"The commute from my house is great. We have quick access to 1-5 and 99. It only takes 10 minutes to drive to downtown. "
  • Alexandra D.
"There are many dogs around the area and people tend to walk then around the 3 mile trial around Greenlake "
  • Grace.spencer
"We love this area! Great parks, restaurants, friendly, close to downtown Seattle.... it’s a gem in Seattle!"
  • Levina
"Amazing park for kids and dogs. Great to take kids for a stroll. Safe neighbourhood though colleagues told me to not go jogging in the park too early/late when it’s dark to not get your phone stolen."
  • JBP
"Mostly friendly neighbors, and courteous, shop keepers and staff that go out of their To help. Seafair in August, community preforming arts theaters, and professional theaters such as the Seattle Repertory Theatre, the Seattle Opera; The Seattle Symphony, etc."
  • Jaybparrish
"We are retired and the commute to grocery, pharmacy and Physician’s office is convenient. Friendly neighborhood "
  • Deboramchugh
"It’s awesome not to depend on a car to go groceries, gym, kids school, coffees, pubs, restaurants... I can go on and on! "
  • Skylar T.
"The lake is so close and so great to walk to. We have a lot of close shops and restaurants to go to. "
  • Wilma T. A.
"Just visiting. I have family in this neighborhood and I am visiting from out of state. The summer is beautiful here, lots of outdoor activities and places to go for walk. "
  • Miriamb
"Living in Green Lake is a dream. The location is close to a plethora of bus stops, the freeway, and a park and ride, ensuring a smooth commute to work or school. You're also close to neighborhoods, like the University District, Wallingford and Ballard. This is a very pet-friendly neighborhood, and it's often hard to complete walking around the lake without stopping to pet an adorable dog every couple of feet. I feel safe in Green Lake, and rent tends to be a little cheaper, but you certainly won't sacrifice on convenience, or lack of amenities. Green Lake truly offers the best of both worlds! "
  • Ida S.
"I just moved the Green Lake area and it is really nice! It is very family friendly neighborhood. It is definitely nice having Green Lake as your front yard. There is a good mix of restaurants (fancy and casual), bars and coffee. I definitely feel safe at night which is a plus in Seattle!"
  • Lauren T.
"I've lived in Green Lake for nearly a year and I love it! Green Lake is great for an active lifestyle. Besides the obvious running/biking trail around the lake, there's also a surprising number of gyms and workout studios nearby. There's also a few great local spots to grab coffee and drinks - Latona Pub, Cafe Lulu and Fix Coffeehouse are my favorites. Definitely a walkable neighborhood...which is good, because parking is scarce, especially in warmer weather when people from outside the neighborhood drive to the lake. Overall though, totally worth it!"
  • do n. c.
"I have lived in Green Lake for 4 years and 1 year at this specific location. I always feel safe walking to and from my bus stop. There is some freeway noise but nothing like other Green Lake areas I have lived. The Lake is just down the road, and close to shops and restaurants and great breakfast locations like Dish and Butcher & the Baker!"
