A truly excellent public high school; its quality would definitely match some private high schools. The arts programs are fantastic, the teachers are generally highly-regarded, and it manages to get students into some pretty great colleges. I'd say the only significant drawback would be the guidance department-if you or your child wishes to go a school other than the University of Maine, be prepared to do a lot of the work yourself. Other than, though, I give it high marks.

The special education program is one of the best. If you have a child with special education needs this is wonderful school. They also have a wonderful music program and teacher for those involved with instruments. The middle school has some wonderful teachers. I only gave 2 stars because if your child is in regular classroom this school has no spelling/vocabulary program, they use the common core math, no real reading program. They also don't use a real grading system. I agree with another review, the administration just leads you in circles hoping you will just give up. There are definitely a couple of teachers just going through the motions.
