Being a current student, this school is exactly great. The teachers help with your grades and the students are well behaved and smart.

school cares more about our electronics and students not learning, fighting, and smoking in classrooms

CHS is a great school. I have a totally different background and was worried about bullies but I have been received with love and kindness. Excellence is celebrated regardless of where you come from. Teachers interact with us like their own children. I am a 9th grader and can say I absolutely enjoy school. My teachers are already discussing college courses with me.Future Aeronautical Engineer,Oluwadamilare.

I can say that at East Side I had experiences and opportunities that was only possible because of east Side like ECC program, where I graduated from High School with my Associates degree already

I just was awarded section 8. I was so excited. I wanted to move out of Newark. Then I received a letter from Malcolm Shabazz stating that my son was one of 6 students in Newark district schools that was awarded a scholarship to Lincoln Tech. All expenses paid. Malcolm Shabazz also informed us that not only will he be graduating next year with honors from there but also Lincoln Tech. They informed us upon graduating in would receive an additional scholarship for 85,000, to further his education. My son was and is so excited. So as for me moving out of Newark, not happening now. My son's dreams have to come first. Thank you Malcolm Shabazz for caring so much about my child and his future!

I am an alumni from University High School class of 2013 and I absolutely loved everything about this school. The staff is dedicated to the excellence of the students futures and their well-being while still in school. You will not find another school whose staff is as nurturing and attentive as the facility at University High School. Go Phoenix!

what can we do to make our schools better? It's up to us to make a difference with our schools and city. Stop complaining about what's so bad about it and make a change.

The education system in the building is very strong and positive. The staff and students welcome you with open arms and show u the right way to be in the building. West side is full of positive attitudes and positive people.

Unfortunately this is a failing school. After my child was there for only a week, it is not hard to see why. The school itself is in poor physical condition. The staff are not supported to be productive or effective. The school, in it's current state, is barely a day care center and far from a institution for young minds to grow and excel.
